Meghan Trainor, pop star and former “American Idol” advisor, is pressing pause on her upcoming tour—and opening up about the emotional reason behind the decision.
The singer revealed on Thursday, April 16 that she is canceling her Get In Girl Tour, sharing a heartfelt message with fans via Instagram Stories.
The announcement comes at a particularly busy and meaningful time in her life, as she balances new music, major career commitments, and growing her family.
Trainor’s Announcement
“After a lot of reflection and some really tough conversations, I’ve made the difficult decision to cancel The Get In Girl Tour,” Trainor wrote. “Balancing the release of a new album, preparing for a nationwide tour, and welcoming our new baby girl to our growing family of five has just been more than I can take on right now, and I need to be home and present for each and all of them at this time.”
The decision, she admitted, was not easy—especially knowing how much fans were looking forward to seeing her live.
“I know this will come as a disappointment to my fans, and I am so sorry to let you down,” she continued. “But I know this is the right decision for my family and me right now. I promise I’ll be back soon, and I can’t wait for you to hear this new record. I’m so proud of it, and I’m endlessly grateful for your love and support always.”
Trainor Is a Mom of Three
Trainor, who has served as an advisor on season 22 of “American Idol,” recently became a mom of three.
Earlier this year, she and her husband welcomed a baby girl via surrogate, a journey she had previously spoken about with gratitude and transparency.
“Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate,” she shared in a prior statement. “We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible. We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family.”
She added, “We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name. We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all.”
The Get In Girl Tour, which was announced in November, was set to kick off in June in Michigan, with Icona Pop and her brother Ryan Trainor joining as openers.
At the same time, Trainor has been in full album rollout mode, recently unveiling the track list for her upcoming release, expected to drop soon.
