Ciara Miller is opening up about the emotional moment that quickly went viral—offering both honesty and a touch of humor about what really happened that day.
The “Summer House” star found herself at the center of online attention after she was photographed sitting on a sidewalk outside a New York Hermès store, visibly upset.
The candid moment came just as news broke that her co-stars Amanda Batula and West Wilson had confirmed their relationship.
Now, Miller is sharing what led to that now-iconic image.
Miller Reveals the Moments Leading Up to the Viral Pics
She opened up during recent comments to Glamour’s Hunter Harris via Substack.
“I was supposed to be meeting my friend at Pastis, and it’s 12:45, and I’m like, ‘I cannot be sitting at this lunch while I’m reading this [expletive] statement,’” she said, explaining how overwhelmed she felt in the moment.
She admitted she thought she might “lose [her] [expletive] mind.”
Rather than sit through lunch, Miller pivoted.
She reached out to her support system, sharing that her manager came to meet her and that she spent time on the phone with co-star Paige DeSorbo.
Still, the situation was difficult to navigate—especially in public.
“And I was like, ‘I don’t even know what the [expletive] to do. I’m in public,’” she recalled. “I was going to go home, and then, honestly, the photo was snapped faster than I could even make it home.”
While the image initially sparked concern and speculation among fans, Miller is now able to look back on it with perspective—and even laugh a little.
“I was like, ‘How chic of it to be Hermès in between Hermès and Bruno Cucinelli,’” she joked. “It’s honestly just so funny. I didn’t mean for it to be right outside of Hermès, but chic nonetheless, I have to say.”

Prior to dishing about the viral image, Miler gave a lengthy interview with Glamour.
The viral moment unfolded just as Batula and Wilson released a joint statement addressing their relationship.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” they shared. “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
Since then, the couple has been spotted together publicly, including at a recent New York Yankees game where they appeared affectionate.
