Stars of “Summer House,” Amanda Batula and West Wilson, have officially confirmed their relationship following weeks of swirling rumors.
The pair shared a joint statement via Instagram Stories on Tuesday, March 31, addressing speculation and offering insight into their evolving connection.
All About the Statement
In the lengthy statement, they wrote:
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity. It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
The statement continued by stating the two started as friends.
“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing either of us expected. Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care,” it noted.
“As our feelings evolved, we wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling. We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless.”
In ended by asking for understanding during this time. “We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this,” they wrote.
Rumors Were Swirling
Prior to the announcement, rumors had been building that the two were more than just friends.
The speculation intensified following Amanda’s split from Kyle Cooke.
The couple announced in January that they had decided to separate after four years of marriage, sparking widespread curiosity about Amanda’s dating life.
Shortly after, Amanda was linked to fellow “Summer House” cast members, including Jesse Solomon, who had previously left flirty comments on her social media, as well as West.
However, Batula shut down the speculation during a March appearance on “Trading Secrets,” insisting, “It’s not going to happen. I’m not touching any of my cast members. Love them dearly, but I’m good.”
Around the same time, celebrity gossip account DeuxMoi stated the two were in fact an item but that it was casual.
Despite her earlier comments, rumors reignited later that month when reports surfaced of tension between Amanda and costar Ciara Miller, allegedly tied to the West rumors.
Notably, West and Ciara previously dated in 2023, though neither has publicly addressed the current situation.
GREAT! I’m happy for two of the nicest people on the show. West was trying to protect Amanda from Kyle’s cruel and immature behavior. I could say worse about Kyle, but I’ll reserve that for another day. The both deserve whatever they want!
