Semi-Finals Performance on ‘American Idol’

During the semifinals on “American Idol” season 24, the Top 5 performed twice: a duet with a 2006 contestant from the show and a “DWTS” crossover performance.

For that “DWTS” crossover performance, Jordan said it’s going to take everything in him not to start dancing with the pros tonight. He is dedicating this one to his little brothers. Jordan will be singing “Footprints in the Sand” by Leona Lewis. He has Witney Carson and Gleb Savchenko performing with him. This was a big song, and his voice carried it. He makes you feel those lyrics, and he nailed it.

For the judges, Lionel said let the congregation say, Amen. Paula said she loves him. It’s not normal, and he makes her question her own existence. Carrie said he’s the perfect example of not overdoing it. He sings with his own body, and we feel that. Luke said no one has made him a bigger believer than him. I see such a bright future for you.

Jordan’s Audition on ‘American Idol’

It all started here. Jordan talked about meeting Jamal Roberts, and he is inspired by him. For his audition, Jordan performed “Goodness of God” by Bethel Music & Jenn Johnson. Jordan said he was going to bring the church here. He definitely did that, as his voice is amazing. Such control and range. This was just an early sign that every time this guy opens his mouth, it feels like he is bringing us to church through the lyrics. There is something special about his voice, that’s for sure. It may be early, but I was a fan.

For the judges, Carrie said he’s been given an incredible gift, and she’s so glad he uses it. Luke said his voice is big enough to fill any room. Lionel said it’s one of those moments where we discover your talent. They are all a big, giant yes, so he is headed to Hollywood. And he kept it going all the way through to the Top 3, and tonight we find out his fate and if he can pull out the Season 24 win.
