Former “American Idol” judge Keith Urban celebrated his 59th birthday on Sunday, October 26. It has been an interesting year for the musician, who is currently on his 2025 High & Alive World Tour and is divorcing his wife of 19 years, Nicole Kidman. However, on his birthday, Urban felt loved and appreciated.

Urban received a very special gift from musician Chase Matthew, and his reaction was captured in video footage shared on Matthew’s Instagram page. In the clip, Matthew expresses his gratitude to Urban for including him on his tour.
“Thank you so much for having us on tour,” Matthew says. “We’ve learned so much from watching you and your team, and they’ve been so awesome.” He also thanked Urban for taking them to Australia with him, then played a video from cultural artist Sam Mangakahia, who had worked with Matthew to create a custom artwork for Urban.
“I thought I’d give a bit of background on the artist behind this gift that your friends put together for you ….I tell stories through design that empower people who are true to their values, and this piece, I’ve titled it The Rise of the Phoenix,” Mangakahia revealed.
Mangakahia continued, “It covers a lot of things and it touches on your family, things that are important to you, your music…where you grew up, and it’s all kind of wrapped up in this.” You can see Urban overcome with emotion, and he starts to tear up. The stunning gift Urban receives is a custom-made Gibson guitar adorned with beautiful, meaningful artwork.
In the caption, Matthew shared his thoughts, writing, “We’ve had such a blast on tour with you @keithurban, Happy Birthday Brother.” The moment is so special.
