Kelly Clarkson announced the end of her talk show after seven seasons, explaining that she is prioritizing her family “for this next chapter of our lives.” An insider shares what’s next for the “American Idol” alum after “The Kelly Clarkson Show” is over.
Insider Explains What Kelly Clarkson Will Focus on Next
In February 2026, Clarkson revealed that the current season of “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will be her last so she can focus on her children, River and Remy.
An insider told People that the end of Clarkson’s talk show gig will allow her to find a better balance between her career and personal life.
“After years of an intense daily schedule, she’s excited to move at a different pace and have more flexibility to spend time with her kids without the structure of a daily show,” the source shared.
They continued, “This change gives her the space to be more present at home while still doing the creative work she loves. Kelly still wants to make music and perform, and she’s open to popping up on projects she enjoys, but nothing that requires an ongoing daily grind.”
“For her, this next phase is about balance,” the insider added.
Clarkson Announced the End of ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show’
On February 2, Clarkson took to Instagram to share her plans to end “The Kelly Clarkson Show.”
“I have been extremely fortunate to work with such an outstanding group of people at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ both in Los Angeles and New York,” the singer shared. “There have been so many amazing moments and shows over these seven seasons.”
The “American Idol” winner continued, “I am forever grateful and honored to have worked alongside the greatest band and crew you could hope for, all the talent and inspiring people who have shared their time and lives with us, all the fans who have supported our show and to NBC for always being such a supportive and incredible partner.”
Clarkson noted, “Because of all of that, this was not an easy decision — but this season will be my last hosting ‘TKCS.'”
“Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” she added. “This isn’t goodbye. I’ll still be making music, playing shows here and there and you may catch me on ‘The Voice’ from time to time … you never know where I might show up next.”
“But for now, I want to thank y’all so much for allowing our show to be a part of your lives, and for believing in us and hanging with us for seven incredible years,” the singer shared.
Fans were overwhelmingly supportive of her decision, flooding the comments section with kind messages.
“Thank you for giving so much of yourself to us! Enjoy the time with your family!!!” one fan wrote.
Another fan noted, “God bless you and your children. You are a great mom!!”
