Yash has another “Big Brother 28” competition victory under his belt, but deciding what to do with his new power may be considerably more complicated.
Taran Armstrong and Aman Adwin broke down Day 40 during the Aug. 16 Rob Has a Podcast live feed update. Yash began the week as Head of Household with Angela Murray, Dee Valladares and Haley on the block, with Dee positioned as the primary target.
The week became even more interesting when Yash won the OTEV Power of Veto competition.
His victory gives him the ability to alter his own nominations, while Rick Devens’ Diamond Power of Veto creates another potential path for the week to change.
Yash’s OTEV Win Complicates Haley’s Nomination
Yash entered the Veto competition already holding significant power as HOH and emerged with another win.
According to Armstrong and Adwin, his next decision could have major implications for the new relationships forming around him.
Yash and Kamu have been strengthening their partnership, and conversations are now underway about creating a four-person group with Taylor and Haley.
That leaves Haley in an unusual position. She is simultaneously sitting on Yash’s block and being considered an important part of his future plans.
Armstrong questioned the logic of leaving Haley vulnerable if Yash and Kamu genuinely want to move forward with her.
However, Yash and Kamu also considered using the Veto on Angela instead, creating uncertainty about what will happen during the ceremony.
The group has additionally discussed potentially bringing Mallory into their plans later.
CBSDevens Considers Diamond Power of Veto Move
Yash isn’t the only player capable of changing the nominations.
Devens continues holding the Diamond Power of Veto and is considering how to maximize its impact.
Armstrong and Adwin discussed the various possibilities surrounding the advantage as Devens weighs when to reveal his power and how using it could affect his relationships throughout the house.
Dee’s own advantage adds another wrinkle.
She previously attempted to use her bribe power to convince Yash to keep her safe, but he rejected the offer. Dee has continued considering how the power might help her as she faces the possibility of eviction.
Elsewhere, Drew has been working to increase distrust between different groups. According to the RHAP hosts, he encouraged Dee to look more closely at Kamu while also attempting to create tension between the veteran players and some of the house’s strongest competitors.
Those conversations come as the house continues dividing into new groups.
Melody and Drew discussed the developing sides, while Barrett appeared more inclined to protect Dee than Mallory in certain scenarios.
Despite all the strategic maneuvering, Haley’s position remains one of the week’s biggest questions.
Joining a potential new core group could significantly improve her standing after several difficult weeks. However, that opportunity only matters if she survives Yash’s nominations and the upcoming Veto ceremony.
With Yash holding the regular Veto, Devens preparing for a potential Diamond Veto move and Dee still searching for ways to use her advantage, the current nominations are anything but guaranteed.
Yash may have won OTEV, but the next decisions could determine who actually emerges from his HOH with the most power.
