Ariana Madix had a surprisingly memorable takeaway after meeting Barack Obama earlier this year — and it all came down to one unexpected detail.
“He has really soft hands,” Madix revealed during a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
Madix appeared on the Bravo late-night series alongside Carl Radke when host Andy Cohen asked her about meeting Obama during NBA All-Star Weekend and whether the former president may secretly know who she is.
“What was it like meeting Barack Obama at the NBA All-Star Weekend this year?” Cohen asked. “And do you think he’s seen an episode of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ or ‘Love Island’?”
Madix admitted she believes there is actually a decent chance Obama could be familiar with Bravo thanks to Michelle Obama.
“I’ve seen Michelle Obama talk about ‘Love Island’ and Bravo shows, so my fingers are crossed that if she’s seen it then maybe Barack has seen it,” Madix said.
The audience immediately laughed after Madix followed up the answer with her now-viral observation about Obama’s handshake.
“He has really soft hands,” she added.
Carl Radke Says Michelle Obama Recognized Lindsay Hubbard
The conversation took another unexpected Bravo turn when Radke shared his own Obama-related story involving Lindsay Hubbard.
“Michelle went up to Lindsay at an event a few years ago, and it’s like, ‘I know you,’” Radke recalled.
“Michelle’s a big fan.”
The exchange quickly sparked reactions online as Bravo fans joked about the possibility that the Obamas may actually keep up with some of reality television’s biggest franchises behind the scenes.
Michelle Obama has occasionally referenced reality television, dating shows, and pop culture in interviews, podcast appearances, and social media conversations over the years, making Madix’s theory feel slightly less impossible to Bravo fans watching the segment.

Madix has become one of the most recognizable faces in reality television following the massive success of Vanderpump Rules over the past several years.
