Kate Chastain Gives Honest & Cheeky Reason Why She Can’t Work With Captain Jason Chambers

Kate Chastain is undoubtedly one of the most recognized faces of Bravo’s “Below Deck.” She first appeared as a chief stew on season 2 of the original series, working alongside Captain Lee Rosbach for five more seasons before leaving yachting behind after season 7.

Chastain didn’t step away from reality TV forever, though. She later appeared on both seasons 1 and 2 of “The Traitors” and, most recently, is among reality TV villains on “House of Villains” season 3. But, would Chastain ever get back into yachting, or even consider working alongside one of “Below Deck’s” most-talked about captains, Captain Jason Chambers?

Kate Chastain has a very valid reason why she can’t see herself working under Captain Jason Chambers. Speaking to Us Weekly, the former “Below Deck” chief stew admitted that Chambers’ good looks might get in the way of her completing her yachting tasks.

“It would be a little distracting,” Chastain told the outlet. “I don’t know if I could be around that face for that long. It’s just too hot. I need to focus on the job.” However, she did admit she would work alongside Captain Sandy Yawn, saying, “I would love to work for Captain Sandy [Yawn] because we get along really well.”

Chastain shared that she does enjoy watching Chambers from afar. He is currently starring on season 4 of “Below Deck Down Under.”

“Captain Jason is so hot, and Daisy is a great chief stew. João [Franco] is back. It’s kind of an all-star ‘Below Deck’ season. I want to be a charter guest [on that season],” she said, which saw the iconic cast of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” aboard the Katina for the premiere episode.

Chastain’s days of working as a chief stew are officially over, but how amazing would it be to see her come back to the Bravo series as a charter guest?

“I know what corners that they would be cutting, so I would probably be an intimidating guest,” she told Us Weekly in the aforementioned interview. “I would be like, ‘Why haven’t we made this happen?’ Maybe next year.”

Chastain doubled down on wanting to return as a guest while appearing on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.” During the March 2 episode, she shared, “I would like to come back as a charter guest. I think that would be super fun.”

Cohen then suggested a dream charter with all of the chief stews, including Chastain, Aesha Scott, Daisy Kelliher, and Fraser Olender.

Chastain approved of the idea, replying, “I know, because we would know the shortcuts [the crew] take. We could catch them.”
