Bravo fans have been eagerly waiting to watch the ladies of “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” set sail with Captain Jason Chambers and his crew in a “Below Deck Down Under” crossover airing Oct. 28.
Ahead of the RHOSLC episode premiere, Chambers spoke to Us Weekly, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from this drama-filled charter. He described his experience as a “wow” moment, something fans will likely agree with, given the energy these women have already brought to season 6.
Captain Jason Chambers Reflects on Hosting the RHOSLC Cast
The event that fans have all been waiting for is finally here! On Oct. 28, Bravo will premiere the RHOSLC and “Below Deck Down Under” crossover special, which is part of season 6 of the “Real Housewives” series and in an upcoming season of BDDU.
Us Weekly caught up with Captain Jason Chambers, who will again be at the helm for the fourth season of BDDU, although a premiere date has not been confirmed as of this writing.
“We didn’t know what we’re in for, but wow. What a wow,” Chambers shared of the charter. “What a way to start the season, I’ll tell you. To be quite honest, there’s a lot going on now. There’s a lot happening, and I don’t think you could fit that much into a three-day charter.”
Chambers revealed that fans would be in for a treat as the RHOSLC ladies did not hold back their feelings for one another despite being on a luxurious yacht. In fact, he also admitted that he had to play doctor and tried to include “some Zen” to break up the tension among the ladies.
“I don’t think we’ve had [that] much drama go on, [but] it was so much fun too. I don’t know how much I can say, but from some injury happening, I’m playing doctor to one of them. …. I was a doctor. I was a yoga instructor. I was a Zen master. I had to be everything to try and calm the whole thing down,” he said.
Chambers continued, “However, we know what they like when they’re together. You’ll see that. I’ve tried everything to try and break the ice. I brought some yoga and some Zen into it to try and stop it. But I don’t think there’s anything we could have done to calm it down.”
What Fans Can Expect on the RHOSLC & BDDU Crossover
The ladies of Salt Lake City, including Meredith Marks, Lisa Barlow, Whitney Rose, Heather Gay, Angie Katsanevas, Mary Cosby, and Britani Bateman, will all be getting a taste of yacht life when episode 7 premieres on Oct. 28. According to a synopsis of the episode, “on housewife is noticeably missing,” leading to believe it is Bronwyn Newport. However, a recent image for the episode on Gay’s Instagram sees Newport waiting to board the yacht with the women.
Still, the episode is sure to be yet another drama-packed one, as a teaser after episode 6 showed the cast continuing to feud with each other, particularly with Barlow. While in one of their cabins, Rose speaks with Gay privately, sharing, “Every time Lisa’s mad at someone, information leaks about them. Angie, me, Bronwyn, Mary, Meredith!”
As the ladies all sit down for dinner, Gay takes this information and tells Barlow, “I think that you’re the source of all the dirt.” Barlow storms off and calls someone tearfully, saying, “I’ve never done anything to them.”
Besides seeing the reality TV women board Chambers’ yacht, fans are just as excited to see some familiar “Below Deck” franchise faces back on their screens. Beloved chef Ben Robinson joins the new season, and so does Daisy Kelliher, who worked as chief stew on “Below Deck Sailing Yacht” for the last four seasons.
