It was only six months ago that “Dancing With the Stars” Derek Hough wished friend and costar Val Chmerkovskiy a happy birthday, which turned out also to be a premonition.

That day came soon after. The happy couple announced their pregnancy to their world just four months later. We can’t wait to meet baby Hough finally. However, until then, we’re delighted with all the updates the parents-to-be share with their fans.
DWTS’s Hough and Erbert Celebrate Their Baby Bliss in Style
Ever since Hough and his wife, Hayley Erbert, announced their pregnancy in July, fans have been excited to hear any news related to their upcoming bundle of joy. On September 8, Erbert posted two photos on her Instagram. She wore a sexy, fluttery, red gown, and her hand lay gently on her belly. Her other arm was leaning against Hough’s shoulder, who had one hand in his pocket and the other around her waist.
On September 13, Hough posted a video from the same maternity shoot.
“That’s my babie’S โค๏ธโค๏ธ,” he captioned it, Justin Bieber’s “GO BABY” playing in the background. The Instagram video showed Erbert in a slinky white dress, holding her stomach. The next shot was Erbert in the red gown, as the sun set on the mountains behind her. The final shot was of the couple smiling as Erbert embraced Hough from behind.
Hough and Erbert Are Keeping the Baby’s Gender Under Wraps
On September 2, Erbert shared a cheeky “Gender Predictions” video using folklore people have used to try to identify a baby’s sex. However, for those hoping that the couple will tell the world the sex of their baby, Derek Hough made it clear that wasn’t going to happen. On September 3, he appeared on “Live with Kelly and Mark” and explained why they weren’t sharing that information.
“Yeah. You know, thereโs not a lot of surprises in life, right?” The “Extra” host said (via People). “Weโre going to keep that one to ourselves,” Hough said. “So yeah, itโs going to be exciting. Canโt wait.”
Hough went on to reveal the reason they decided to find out instead of keeping it a surprise, which had to do with Erbert being “Type A.”
“Sheโs like, โThat closet is ready to go, the clothes are ready.โ She wants to know whatโs going on,” Hough said.
