Simone Biles is speaking out about why she’s choosing to share her plastic surgery journey with so much transparency. The seven-time Olympic gold medalist, who made it to the semi-finals and placed fourth with Sasha Farber on season 24 of “Dancing With the Stars,” revealed in a People exclusive published November 13, 2025 that she has “no shame” about her procedures.
Back in October, the superstar gymnast shared a TikTok video where she listed the alterations she’s made to her appearance so far: a breast augmentation, a lower blepharoplasty to smooth her under eyes, and an earlobe surgery to fix the damage caused by an earring being “ripped out” in the past.
Now, she’s opening up about the importance she places on sharing openly about her journey. Read on for details.
Simone Biles Says ‘Social Media Is Not Real’
The 28-year-old told People in the new interview, “Social media is not real, so that’s why I try to be as transparent as possible. She said her decision was inspired by the tendency to open social media and question how everyone looks so good, and that she places importance on sharing both the good and the bad parts of her cosmetic journey. She revealed getting Botox on her 27th birthday was something she didn’t love, saying, “I had a floating eyebrow and everyone was asking what that was.”
GettySimone also talked about the value she places on being relatable. “Seeing me win medals at the Olympics, that’s not relatable. But what is relatable is how we feel about ourselves, what we talk about, what we go through and how we share openly, honestly,” she told the mag, adding its the reason she opted to get so candid in the revealing TikTok post.
She also emphasized that the surgeries weren’t a result of disliking the way she looked or felt. “It’s just something that I notice obviously a little bit more because I live in this body, I’m just so used to it,” she said.
Simone Biles’ Olympic Teammate Just Advanced to ‘DWTS’ Semifinals
Following in Simone’s footsteps on the dance floor is her Olympic teammate, 24-year-old Jordan Chiles. Chiles was at Simone’s side as the team took the silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 games (which were held in the Summer of 2021), and the friends shared the worldwide stage once again at Paris 2024.
While being interviewed after her week 2 jive to the song “Maniac” with her partner Ezra Sosa on One-Hit-Wonders night, Chiles told E! News, “One of my teammates Simone, she texted me and was like, ‘Girl, you killed it.’ I was like, ‘Period. Oh, thank you.’ I love being able to understand they are supporting me the same way I support them.”
Who Made It to the ‘DWTS’ Semifinals in Season 34?
Chiles and Sosa will dance in the semifinals of “Dancing With the Stars” season 34 on Tuesday, November 18 at 8 p.m. E.T. on ABC. The show also airs live on Disney+.
