“Dancing With the Stars” fans around the world felt delighted when Mark Ballas announced he was headed back to Broadway. For several weeks of performances, he will step into the role of Billy Flynn in “Chicago,” with his “DWTS season 34 partner Whitney Leavitt headlining as Roxie Hart.

Mark Ballas Takes His First Bow After His “Chicago” Debut
“Dancing With the Stars” fans fell in love with the friendship Mark Ballas and Whitney Leavitt cultivated onscreen. Even though they didn’t win, they brought magic and chemistry to the stage during every performance.
Now, fans get the chance to see them shine on stage together again. On the evening of April 6, 2026, Mark Ballas joined Whitney Leavitt to star in “Chicago” on Broadway.
During the curtain call, the crowd goes wild with excitement as the announcer calls Mark Ballas’ name. Near the end of the bows, he and Whitney graciously accept beautiful floral bouquets as they beam at the audience.
On Instagram, Mark described how important the role of Billy Flynn has always been to him. When he was 19, he auditioned for Billy Flynn in London’s West End and made it to the final round before being turned down.
“Hard work, persistence, dedication to the craft, and relentlessness really do pay off,” Mark shared in a touching social media post. “Thank you to my musical theatre teachers for instilling this in me, and for the years of tough love.”
Fans Show Up in Droves to Support the “DWTS” Alum
Mark Ballas has taken breaks from “Dancing With the Stars” over the years, but his fans have always remained loyal and kept up with his other projects. When he isn’t dancing, he’s working on music with his wife, BC Jean.
Ever eager to support the dancer, fans flooded the street to catch a glimpse of him. In turn, Mark beamed and excitedly greeted fans outside the theater.
