Spelling Previously Survived 2011 Crash While Being Followed by Paparazzi
GettySpelling has faced a similar frightening moment in the past. As per NBC, in June 2011, she was involved in a car accident after crashing into a wall while driving her two eldest children to school, as paparazzi followed closely behind.
At the time, Spelling, who was pregnant, shared that the crash occurred as she tried to distance herself from a photographer who continued taking pictures even after the incident.
“Tori is really shaken up, but she and the kids are doing fine,” her representative told People at the time. “She’s going to the doctor for a checkup.”
“[The photographer] followed her into the driveway of the school,” a friend added. “She pulled into the driveway and tried to get away from him. She reversed to leave and then hit the wall.”
Spelling Opened Up About ‘Second Chapter’ Days Before 2026 Crash
GettyThe 2026 crash comes just days after Spelling opened up about a new chapter in her life. She commented on her relationship with ex-husband Dean McDermott, noting that the two remain on good terms as they continue to co-parent their children.
In a conversation with People at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles on March 26, the actress and podcaster said her focus has shifted away from romance as she prioritizes personal growth and new ventures.
“I am not thinking about dating. I am in my power era, and I’m rebuilding and reinventing and taking it to the next level,” Spelling told People.
“And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m back. This is my second chapter.’ So I really … I have so many businesses that I want to build, [and build] my empire, and I can date later. That can always come,” she added.
Spelling also shared that she and McDermott, 59, who finalized their divorce in October 2025 after 19 years of marriage, remain on good terms and continue to co-parent their children.
