Tori Spelling Opens Up About Her ‘Drama-Free’ Divorce

Tori Spelling is among the most talked-about actresses and reality stars of all time. Unfortunately, “Scary Movie” actress hasn’t had the easiest of lives and recently divorced her longtime husband, Dean McDermott. Now, she’s opening up about their uncoupling.

Spelling opened up about her divorce from McDermott during the November 10 episode of her “misSpelling” podcast. She said, “As all of you have seen in the news. I am officially divorced. Wow. I said it out loud. It must be real.”

She went on to describe finalizing her divorce as a “full circle” and called it “quite a journey.” From there, Spelling revealed that the divorce proceedings were pretty smooth. She continued, “This is something never said. This was one of the easiest divorces in Hollywood.”

Spelling continued, “While we had our ups and downs and problems throughout our marriage, we had no problems throughout the divorce, which I think is a testament to the two of us and wanting to really step up and be there for the five humans we chose to create out of love.”

She added, “This is a drama-free uncoupling and divorce.” Additionally, she and McDermott didn’t require a trial.


Spelling and McDermott Announced Their Split in 2023

Spelling and McDermott tied the knot in May 2006 in Fiji. This came after they initially met in 2005 while filming a movie together. They have five children over the course of their almost two-decade-long relationship.

According to E! News, he announced their split in June 2023. McDermott said in a since-deleted Instagram post, “It’s with great sadness and a very, very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways, and start a new journey of our own. We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time.”

He added, “We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and work our way through this. Thank you all for your support and kindness.”

Spelling then filed for divorce in March 2024.


They Both Keep Busy These Days

Both Spelling and McDermott are busy coparenting their five children. However, they are also keeping fair careers fairly active. For Spelling, she recently starred in Lifetime’s “Lost in the Everglades” movie. According to IMDb, she will also lend her voice to the upcoming video game “Ghosts.”

Regarding McDermott, he recently appeared in the films “Foibles” and “Polar Opposites.”
