Disney movies are beloved for their magic, humor, and timeless storytelling. However, watching them as adults, some lines, even though they are delivered innocently, take on an unintentionally inappropriate or hilariously awkward tone. While these moments didnโt break the family-friendly charm, they definitely make us laugh now. Here are some of those unintentionally inappropriate lines from Disney movies that still crack us up.
1. โThere are no bears in San Francisco.โ โ โInside Outโ (2015)
Riley is having an emotional breakdown on โInside Out.โ She is afraid of a bear outside her bedroom window, but Disgust states, โThere are no bears in San Francisco.โ Anger chimes in, โI saw a really hairy guy, he looked like a bear.โ
Innocent to kids, but a clear reference to the LGBTQ+ community, especially in the San Francisco area. Too funny for adults watching.
2. โFoot size doesnโt matter.โ โ โFrozenโ (2013)
It was an awkward moment between Anna and Kristoff on โFrozen,โ but he was quizzing her about the things she knew about Prince Hans. One of those questions happens to be, โFoot size?โ
Anne replies, โFoot size doesnโt matter.โ Itโs meant to be reassuring, but it lands in a very different tone for adult viewers.
3. Buzz Lightyearโs accidental excited moment โ โToy Story 2โ (1999)
Talk about timing, right? Buzz Lightyear was having a reaction to seeing Jesse, which can seem like nothing to the kids watching โToy Story 2.โ
However, he proudly demonstrates his โlaser.โ No doubt about it, that was added for the adult viewers.
4. โIโm not bad. Iโm just drawn that way.โ โ โWho Framed Roger Rabbitโ (1988)
This line from Jessica Rabbit is meant to sound seductive, like her. However, in context, itโs very tongue-in-cheek.
Children may not be able to register the double meaning, but adults immediately catch the risquรฉ humor hidden in the animation.
5. โI prefer you in leather, anyway.โ โ โFrozen IIโ (2019)
Anna and Kristoff are back, but this time from โFrozen 2.โ Who knew they had such dirty minds?
Anna is commenting on how Kristoff and the boys got all dressed up for her. Kristoff said she gets it for one hour, but then Anna drops this line out of nowhere. Parents everywhere were like, โWHAT?!?!โ
6. โIโm not touching you, youโre touching me!โ โ โLilo & Stitchโ (2002)
It sounds like an innocent little scuffle between Lilo and Stitch. Teasing each other, which gets Lilo extra worked up. However, the delivery can take on a double meaning when viewed through an adult lens. This is the kind of line kids laugh at for the chaos, while adults might snicker at the unintended implications.
