Cristiano Ronaldo Marries Longtime Love Georgina Rodríguez in Intimate Portugal Wedding

After nearly a decade together, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Portugal, with their five children present. The Portuguese soccer superstar, 41, married the model, 32, in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, on Tuesday, Aug. 11, US Weekly confirmed.

Their five children were present for the intimate celebration, according to a press release cited by People.

Ronaldo kept the public announcement simple. He shared a close-up photo of the couple’s hands showing off their new wedding bands and captioned it, “C❤️G.”

Inside Ronaldo and Rodríguez’s Intimate Portugal Wedding

The wedding arrived exactly one year after Rodríguez revealed that Ronaldo had proposed. On Aug. 11, 2025, she posted a photo of her enormous oval-cut diamond engagement ring and wrote, “Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas,” which translates to, “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.”

The date gives their wedding an especially personal connection to the day they first shared their engagement with the world.

Rather than stage a sprawling celebrity affair, the couple kept the civil ceremony focused on their family. The celebration was described as a “private and intimate moment,” as per People.

Family was at the center of the day. Ronaldo and Rodríguez are raising five children together: Ronaldo’s son Cristiano Jr., 16; twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 9; daughter Alana, 8; and daughter Bella, 4.

The couple has also endured profound loss together. In April 2022, they announced that Bella’s newborn twin brother, Ángel, had died.

Their family life has frequently appeared alongside Rodríguez’s career, including in her Netflix reality series I Am Georgina, which gave viewers a closer look at her relationship with Ronaldo and their life away from the soccer field.

Rodríguez Was ‘Shocked’ by Ronaldo’s Proposal

Months after getting engaged, Rodríguez admitted that Ronaldo’s proposal caught her completely off guard.

“The truth is, when he proposed, it was the last thing on my mind,” she told Elle Spain in December 2025.

She said it took time to process the enormous diamond he had given her and joked about the lavish ring, “It’s the least he could offer me after 10 years of waiting.”

The proposal may have surprised Rodríguez, but marriage had been a subject of speculation around the couple for years. Their quiet ceremony now puts those questions to rest.

Ronaldo and Rodríguez met in Madrid in 2017 while she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store. They stepped out together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich before making their relationship Instagram official later that year, according to People.

Ronaldo later admitted on I Am Georgina that he never expected their connection to become so serious.

He said he “didn’t think at the beginning that [the relationship] would be this strong, that I would fall in love with her. I didn’t expect it, honestly. But after a while, I felt that she was the woman of my life.”

Nearly 10 years after that first meeting, the couple has made it official in Portugal, with their children beside them for the next chapter.
