Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez may be preparing to celebrate their next chapter at one of Madeira’s most glamorous hotels. The soccer star, 41, and the model and media personality, 32, are reportedly planning to marry on Saturday, August 8, in Funchal, where Ronaldo was born, the US Sun reported.

British media reports, including The Portugal News, claim Ronaldo and Rodriguez will exchange vows at Funchal Cathedral before moving the celebration to Savoy Palace.
The ceremony is reportedly scheduled for 3 p.m. The cathedral, a major landmark in Madeira’s capital, is located a short drive from the hotel and is said to accommodate approximately 800 guests.
No guest list has been released. Ronaldo and Rodriguez have also remained quiet about the plans, keeping the details of their long-awaited wedding private.

Savoy Palace sits in the heart of Funchal with sweeping views of the Atlantic. The property is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World and features 352 rooms, terraced gardens, rooftop dining and several pools.
Its Grand Ballroom can host up to 900 people, according to the hotel, and can be divided into three separate areas. The resort also offers a children’s playroom, a gym and Laurea Spa, which has 13 treatment rooms.
Reports suggest the couple could spend their wedding night at The Reserve, an exclusive 40-room retreat within Savoy Palace. The private section offers around-the-clock assistance from a dedicated guest experience team and panoramic views of Funchal Bay.
Madeira Wedding Would Bring Cristiano Ronaldo Home
Choosing Madeira would make the celebration deeply personal for Ronaldo. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner was born and raised in Funchal before leaving the island to pursue his soccer career, according to PEOPLE.
His connection remains visible across Madeira. The local airport bears his name, while the island is also home to the Museu CR7 and the Pestana CR7 Funchal hotel.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez met in 2016 while she was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. They announced their engagement in August 2025 after nearly a decade together.
They share daughters Alana and Bella, and Rodriguez helps raise Ronaldo’s three other children. In 2022, they announced that Bella’s twin brother, Ángel, died during childbirth.

Ronaldo previously told Piers Morgan that he hoped to marry Rodriguez after winning the 2026 World Cup.
“I hope to arrive at my wedding with the champion’s trophy,” he said.
Portugal’s run ended with a loss to Spain in the Round of 16, but Ronaldo made it clear that his commitment to Rodriguez went far beyond soccer.
