Taraji P. Henson Shares Love of Fashion
Henson is often celebrated for her incredible style, and she is not one to shy away from color or bold designs, which makes her outfit choices interesting and oftentimes fun. She has previously described herself as a “mood dresser,” noting how her clothing choices reflect her personality and her feelings.
In an Instagram post on April 30, the “Empire” actress shared several photos of herself in different looks, including a stunning purple gown and a tailored red pantsuit sans top. The caption includes an excerpt from an interview with the New York Post. “Welcome to Taraji P. Henson’s technicolor world: ‘I’m a mood dresser,’ she tells Alexa. ‘One day I may have on a baseball cap and some sweats, and the next day I may have on a full Schiaparelli look. Dressing up for me is like putting on a character.’”
Henson is beloved for her role as Cookie Lyon on the hit series, “Empire.” But she did not always love her character’s bold wardrobe. “I don’t wear any more print, thanks to Cookie,” she told a reporter at the CFDA Awards, Vogue reports. Unlike Cookie, she also does not wear fur.
