Jennifer Garner announced the launch of her new YouTube Channel: “Pretend Cooking Show.” Garner took to her Instagram story to share the exciting update with her followers.

“If you enjoy #PretendCookingShow, you can now subscribe to our brand new @youtube channel. All episodes, old and new, will be in one place. Come check us out — and thank you for watching along with our nonsense,” she wrote, punctuating the message with red heart emojis.

She concluded the post with a teasing, jolly message: “P.S. We are kicking it off with some extra fun Holiday episodes. We hope you bake up a beautiful Holiday Season.” Garner ended the message with a heartfelt “xxxx.”

Taking ‘Pretend Cooking Show’ From Instagram to YouTube

“Pretend Cooking Show” debuted on Instagram prior to Garner’s announcement that the series would transition to YouTube. The “13 Going on 30” actress posted short-form videos to her account, sharing different recipes with her audience. She most recently posted a clip where she partnered with Kitchen Aid, teaching viewers how to make “Cowboy Cookies.” The unique cookie recipe contains oats, chocolate chips, pecans, chocolate coated candies and coconut.

Prior to this sweet treat, Garner crafted a roasted fennel and farro salad. Other featured recipes include chicken enchiladas, ice cream and even pet treats.

Jennifer Garner Shares Four Exciting Recipes

The “Pretend Cooking Show” YouTube channel has hit the ground running, posting six total videos to the account. Four of the posts are YouTube Shorts while the remainder are full-length videos. These videos balance being informative with playfulness, letting Garner show off her personality while she teaches her followers how to make delicious meals.

In her Shorts, Garner explores four different desserts: oatmeal, chocolate chocolate chip bread, pumpkin maple muffins and biscones.

Meanwhile, she focuses on more savory treats in her longer videos, trying out a sweet potato and black bean chili as well as beef bourguignon. In the latter, she answered questions from fans such as her favorite fruit–”apple”–and her favorite color: “gray, or a deep green, or blue, or red.” She then tested out her cooking chops, setting a pot of veggies on fire after pouring in a hearty cup of Cognac.

“That was wild!” exclaimed the actress as she stepped back from the flaming ingredients.

Garner describes her venture into chili as “for the vegetarians and all the people who love vegetarians.” Throughout the video, she chops up a plethora of veggies like onions and jalapeños, adding in spices and a hearty helping of broth. She ends the video realizing that she lacks both cilantro and avocado, playfully adding gifs of the ingredients on top of a shot of the final product. Like all “Pretend Cooking Show” clips, the video ends with a stylized recipe card.
