Former Hallmark star Alicia Witt recently shared an intriguing tease with fans. While many fans would love to see her return to Hallmark, it doesn’t seem that is coming anytime soon. Rather, Witt suggested, she is embracing a new chapter and quite excited about it.
Alicia Witt Experienced a Life-Changing Trip Recently
On January 10, Witt took to Instagram to gush over a recent trip. “It’s been an experience… a once in a lifetime,” she wrote in the caption.
Witt continued, “The start of a new chapter, perhaps. The culmination of all that came before this.”
She noted that she was still waiting for news that she could share with fans regarding her new record. In addition, she teased other developments that are also on the horizon.
In the meantime, Witt encouraged fans to join her “from anywhere in the world” for her “acoustic residency.”
The show Witt teased took place on January 15 and was titled “Alicia Witt Live From Analog.” While the live show is over, fans can still purchase replays via the website.
The site also offers other performances of Witt’s, including her Christmas show, available to purchase and stream.
In addition to inviting everybody to join her online or in person for her Nashville show, Witt teased, “My voice is certainly warmed up after this magical week in the studio.”
“I can’t wait to tell you more and to share more,” she concluded.
The Hallmark Alum Previously Indicated She’d Love to Return to the Network
Much to the disappointment of many of her fans, Witt hasn’t acted in a Hallmark project in quite some time. She previously appeared in movies such as “Christmas Tree Lane” and “Our Christmas Love Song.”
In October 2025, Witt addressed her absence from Hallmark. One fan asked, “Hey Alicia, when are you going to do another Hallmark movie. We really miss seeing you on tv.”
Witt shared a lengthy reply with that particular fan. “Oh you’re the sweetest! Thank you! I’m SO grateful for the movies I made for them, especially since so many of you found my music this way,” she explained.
She went on to acknowledge a significant shift in leadership at Hallmark that happened several years ago. That was, in all likelihood, a reference to the January 2020 announcement that then CEO Bill Abbott was leaving Hallmark.
As Hallmark fans may remember, Abbott then shifted his focus to building Great American Family, luring other network stars such as Candace Cameron Bure to join him.
Of the leadership change, Witt explained, “I stopped getting offered movies there, along with some other ‘regulars.’ And then I started getting a lot of work in feature films.”
Witt also referenced the old adage about when one door closes, a window opens, noting she had four theatrical releases on the horizon.
Even so, Witt admitted, “I remain most open to making another Christmas movie in the future if they were to offer me one (and @hallmarkchannel knows this).” She emphasized, “It was never my choice to stop making them.”
This recent Instagram post would seem to suggest that now, Witt is focused on opportunities opening up for her rather than looking backward. Fans will be eager to see what it is that she has in the works.

I would love to see her come back and do movies with Hallmark.
So would I.
It just seemed like Hallmark that was made the number one cable channel before the new leadership came brought in some talkers who have changed it from a channel you could leave on and not worry about and be happy with threw that image away, their loyal stars that made them number one were discarded and now all it seems to care about are bare chests, hunks, tight dresses, and other things.
It is a shame because they used to have (still have some) really nice stars. They also made the cable channel Movies & Mysteries then took away Movies and show the same repeated old showa every four to six weeks. I discontinued my them because of that.
