Lenz Has Built a Music Career Alongside Her Acting Career
During Lenz’s time as Haley James Scott on “One Tree Hill,” her character’s musical arc often mirrored her real life, including the duet cover of Ryan Adams’ “When the Stars Go Blue” in Season 2 with fellow “One Tree Hill” star Tyler Hilton as Chris Keller. This song charted the Billboard Pop 100 in 2005.
Over the years, Lenz has moved between solo releases and collaborations, most notably forming the indie folk duo Everly with her friend Amber Sweeney in 2008. The pair gained a loyal following, particularly among fans of “One Tree Hill,” as a number of songs were featured on the show. They released EPs like “Mission Bell” in 2008 and “Fireside” in 2009 before Lenz returned to solo projects in 2012. After this, she continued to experiment with her music, releasing projects like the album “Your Woman” in 2013 and the EP “Get Back to Gold” in 2014.
Some of her most recent work includes her first solo Christmas project, “Snow,” in 2020, the single “Strawberries” in 2023, the single featuring Noah Needleman “Flesh & Bone” in 2024, and a collaborative album with Tyler Hilton in 2025 called, “Well Well Well.”
