From 2009 to 2016, Ser’Darius Blain worked fairly steadily in Hollywood, but he was only landing small roles on TV shows and in movies. That changed when he was cast in the 2017 blockbuster hit “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” as Young Fridge. Doors opened, a franchise was born, and he even landed roles that earned him Hallmark hunk status.
Currently filming his third “Jumanji” movie, Blain shared a heartwarming tribute to franchise star and executive producer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on February 5, 2026, writing, “You changed my life forever. For that, I’m gonna try to positively affect the world like you have for so many. I’m forever indebted. Thank you.”
Ser’Darius Blain Was Touched by Dwayne Johnson’s Response to His Tribute
Blain, whose Hallmark projects have included the “Holidazed” mini-series and 2024’s “Christmas on Call,” followed up his post on February 9 by sharing a screenshot of Johnson’s reply to him on Instagram.
Johnson wrote, “You keep doing great work and affecting all those around you in such a big positive way!! That never goes out of style. Been awesome working with you man— Let’s bring this one home to the world!👊🏾👊🏾 #Jumanji”
In the comments, Blain replied, “you got it boss 🙏🏾” but admitted in his post that he was still starstruck by Johnson after all these years.
“I’m not gonna front like this ain’t cool to me,” Blain wrote in his caption. “I used tin ‘Rock bottom’ everybody from 99-03 lol and I had the peoples eyebrow down pat because of these pointy ass eyebrows 😅 I don’t have idols but if I did, he’d be one. And he’s Better than advertised. I be trynna act cool on set but this MF is the ONE, not the 2… #TheRock #stopandsmelltheroses”
Ser’Darius Blain Has Reunited With His ‘Jumanji’ Family After a Really Tough Year
In addition to reuniting with Johnson for “Jumanji 3,” Blain is back on set with many of the cast members who were part of 2017’s “Welcome to the Jungle” and 2019’s “Jumanji: The Next Level,” including Jack Black, Karen Gillan and Kevin Hart.
Blain was seen in a video Johnson posted in November of a giant table read before filming began. He’s also posted behind-the-scenes peeks from the set, including gushing over getting to work with Danny DeVito.
GettyIn another post, with a photo of DeVito and him laughing on set, Blain wrote, “Getting mentored by one of your idols is a blessing you can’t quite put into words…then he’s the kindest human on top of that!”
The positive experience filming the new “Jumanji” comes after a particularly tough year for Blain, who admitted in a post on November 16, “Went through some of the worse [expletive] of my life the last year. Lost a lot, have to plenty to repair but it’s interesting…You blink and suddenly you’re in another decade. Live in the moment, let life be good to you sometimes. Work hard, rest, laugh, but most of all…DREAM. #AccordingToSer”
“Jumanji 3” is slated to open in theaters on December 11, 2026, according to Hollywood Reporter.
