Hallmark fans have plenty to look forward to this month with the return of the network’s “Spring Into Love” programming event, featuring several all-new, original movies that premiere on Saturday nights during the spring season. The event is centered around the celebration of romance and new beginnings. While the spring lineup only includes the romance titles premiering at the end of the month, Hallmark’s March movie schedule will also include two cozy mystery premieres.

The lineup kicks off with “Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery,” the next chapter in the fan-favorite “Hannah Swensen Mystery” franchise. The film follows Hannah after she finds a body at the grand re-opening of the Lake Eden Inn. When a storm traps everyone inside, Hannah must find the culprit before the road clears and the killer escapes. It stars Alison Sweeney as the titular character, Victor Webster as by-the-books prosecuting attorney Chad Norton, and Barbara Niven as Delores, Hannah’s mom.

Meet the Cast: Alison Sweeney as Hannah

According to her Hallmark bio, “Sweeney currently stars in and executive produces ‘Hannah Swensen Mysteries,’ based on the incredibly popular book series from Joanne Fluke; and ‘Chronicle Mysteries’ which she co-created based on her passion for true crime podcasts with serial storytelling, both for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Her previous movies for Hallmark include numerous Hallmark Channel Original Movies including the popular sequel trilogy for ‘The Wedding Veil.'”

“Sweeney began her acting at age four and at age 16, she joined the cast of ‘Days of Our Lives.’ In addition to her long-running career as Sami Brady, for which she earned an Emmy nomination for Best Lead Actress, Sweeney also hosted numerous live television specials and 13 seasons of ‘The Biggest Loser,’ as well as many guest-starring roles on iconic television series and true crime podcasts.”


Meet the Cast: Victor Webster as Chad

According to his Hallmark bio, “Webster most recently completed a large recurring arc in the second season of The CW’s military fantasy show ‘Motherland: Fort Salem.’ He also starred in ‘MatchMaker Mysteries: The Art of the Kill,’ the third installment of the signature mystery on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Most recently for Hallmark, he starred in ‘The Wedding Veil Legacy’ on Hallmark Channel. He spent two seasons on the Netflix/CBC comedy ‘Workin’ Moms,’ playing Mike Bolinski.”

“Webster discovered his passion for acting when he made his television debut on the NBC daytime drama ‘Days of Our Lives.’ He then segued to the AMC network series ‘The Lot’ and the number one syndicated series ‘Mutant X.'”

Webster has had roles in some of television’s most popular series, including “Sex and the City,” “Castle,” “Bones,” “CSI,” “NCIS,” “Charmed,” and “Criminal Minds.” He is known to Hallmark fans for his roles in “Five Star Christmas,” “Homegrown Christmas,” “Love Blossoms,” “Summer Villa” and “A Harvest Wedding.” He also starred in “Hearts of Winter.”

According to her Hallmark bio, “Niven has appeared in more than 100 film and TV roles and 2,500 TV and radio commercials. She also served three years on the National Board of Directors for the Screen Actors Guild.”

“For six seasons, Niven starred in the Hallmark Channel original primetime series ‘Chesapeake Shores.’ She has starred in the Hallmark movie original ‘USS Christmas,’ four installments of Hallmark Channel’s ‘Christmas in Evergreen’ movie franchise in addition to Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ popular ‘Crossword Mysteries,’ appearing in all installments. Niven starred with Alison Sweeney in the popular ‘Murder She Baked’ franchise and reprised her role in ‘Sweet Revenge: A Hannah Swensen Mystery’ in 2021. She also was in Hallmark Channel’s first original primetime series, Debbie Macomber’s ‘Cedar Cove.'”
