Jonthan Bennett kept quite busy on Hallmark over the past few months. He hosted a second season of “Finding Mr. Christmas,” and he starred in “A Keller Family Christmas.” He also starred in “The Groomsmen” trilogy, which aired on Hallmark+ in 2024 and on the Hallmark Channel in 2025.
As busy as Bennett has been, he admitted there is one movie he has yet to make that is on his radar. He recently revealed he would like to star with one of his longtime besties, Hallmark’s Queen of Christmas, Lacey Chabert.
Jonathan Bennett & Lacey Chabert Have Yet to Do a Hallmark Movie Together
Bennett and Chabert talked with Decider while attending the Hallmark Christmas Experience event. As fans know, the two starred on “Mean Girls” two decades ago, and they have remained close all these years.
Despite their long-running friendship and multiple respective Hallmark projects, Bennett pointed out one thing that’s been missing.
“I want to do a Christmas movie with Lacey. We haven’t done one yet,” Bennett revealed.
He added, “I think that would be really fun just to reconnect.”
Bennett also shared he thinks both he and Chabert have an interest in doing a Christmas movie together, “We’re just trying to figure out what that looks like and what the right one is.”
Chabert & Bennett Would Love to See Their ‘Mean Girls’ Co-Stars Join Them at Hallmark
In addition to doing a Christmas movie with Chabert, Bennett shared some other ideas regarding potential co-stars. When asked who else from “Mean Girls” he would like to see join the Hallmark family, he went with Amanda Seyfried.
Bennett suggested that Seyfried would be “really fun” to have at Hallmark. “I think those big blue eyes, and she has such a sweet demeanor to her. I think she would really fit in this world and pop in a Hallmark movie,” he explained.
Chabert agreed that Seyfried would be great to have at Hallmark. However, she also admitted she couldn’t necessarily choose just one “Mean Girls” co-star. She thought they all “would be great.”
She added, “And I love a reunion.” Chabert mentioned how much she loved reuniting with her former “Party of Love” co-star Scott Wolf for Hallmark’s “A Merry Scottish Christmas,” and she’d be game to reconnect with other former co-stars, as well.
“That was an incredible reunion,” Chabert said of working with Wolf again.
Ultimately, Chabert explained, “That is my favorite thing about this business, when your paths continue to cross, and you never know what’s possible. I just love the unexpected surprises.”
Bennett & Chabert Have Maintained a Strong Friendship for Over 20 Years
Bennett has talked about his deep adoration for Chabert on numerous ocassions. In September, he posted a fun tribute to Chabert for her birthday, joking “she still puts up with me” after 22 years of friendship.
In an Instagram post Bennett shared in September 2020, he noted that Chabert is one of those people “that come into your life and it’s never the same again.”
Chabert and Bennett haven’t filmed a Hallmark movie together yet, but given their respective successes with the network in the past year, it seems it may be the perfect time to get something officially in the works.
