Hallmark stars Lori Loughlin and Jodie Sweetin have been close for decades. They starred together on “Full House” throughout Sweetin’s childhood, and have remained good friends throughout adulthood. Given that, Sweetin’s recent response about Loughlin’s split from former husband Mossimo Giannulli seemed absolutely perfect to fans.
Loughlin is back on Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart,” a move on the network’s part that has thrilled fans. She appeared at the very end of the season 13 finale and will be present for several episodes in season 14 when it premieres in January 2027.
Sweetin has appeared in several Hallmark projects over the years. She starred in “The Jane Mysteries” movies, as well as “A Cozy Christmas Inn” and “The Heiress and the Handyman.”
The two haven’t starred in anything together recently, but Sweetin’s latest comments about Loughlin showed the two still have one another’s backs after all these years. She made a dig about Loughlin’s ex-husband, and fans got a kick out of it.

On May 21, Us Weekly shared a quick video interview with Sweetin. The Hallmark alum and many others were attending the 35th anniversary party for The Abbey in West Hollywood.
First, Sweetin was asked what she thought of Loughlin’s look lately. As Hallmark fans have seen, Loughlin has appeared at several events recently, and fans have gushed over how fabulous she looks.
Sweetin replied, “She looks gorgeous! I haven’t seen her in a while, but I’m sure she looks absolutely amazing.”
That response was supportive on its own, but it wasn’t that comment of Sweetin’s that had fans buzzing.
The former “Full House” star added, “There’s nothing like dropping some dead weight to get you back out there looking cute.” The “dropping dead weight” quip was clearly a response about Loughlin separating from Giannulli.
Fans Love How Sweetin Shows Her Support for Loughlin

Another quipped, “She ain’t wrong lol.”
On X, formerly Twitter, someone else wrote, “She’s not wrong, Lori looks beautiful.”
Fans also had plenty to say in a “Full House” subreddit thread.
“One thing I love about Jodie is that you always know where she stands, and I love that about her,” one Reddit user wrote.
Several Redditors noted that another “Full House” alum, John Stamos, previously shared boldly direct comments about Loughlin’s split.
A Redditor wrote, “Lol now that makes 2 cast members. First, was John Stamos. He really dug deep at Lori’s ex. At least Jodie kept it cute,” one person commented.
During an October 2025 appearance on the “Good Guys” podcast, Stamos referred to Loughlin as a “saint” and said, “I’m just heartbroken for her right now. She’s just devastated.” He added that Giannulli is “a terrible narcissist.”
“I pray that he realizes that what he had was everything that anyone could ever hope for and that he gets some help,” the “Full House” alum stated.
In October 2025, People reported that Giannulli and Loughlin had split after almost three decades of marriage. Neither Loughlin nor Mossimo has made any public statements about their split.
