Sarah Drew Shares Exciting 1st Look at Her New Movie: ‘Pure Magic’

Sarah Drew has a new movie coming to television screens soon, and she says the filming experience was “pure magic.”

After Drew’s new Lifetime movie, “When I Said I Do,” was announced, the star of Hallmark’s “Mistletoe Mysteries” took to social media to give fans a taste of how much she loved working on the movie.

Sarah Drew Couldn’t Help but Gush Over the Filming Experience

On April 2, Drew shared a video montage on her Instagram page. She included a lengthy caption, all about “When I Said I Do.”

On April 2, Deadline announced that Drew would star alongside actor Eric Johnson in the new Lifetime movie. The film is based on the song of the same name by Clint Black and Lisa Hartman Black. It premieres on May 23.

Drew’s video included still shots and brief behind-the-scenes video snippets from the filming of “When I Said I Do.” It appears there was a lot of laughter on the set.

In her caption, Drew wrote, “Boy oh boy, this experience was pure magic. Pardon me while I gush… We all played so hard with such wild childlike abandon, finding so many epic moments of grief, pain, joy, hilarity, romance, family intimacy…It was a cornucopia of emotion.”

She gave a “huge thank you to my partner in crime,” Johnson, noting he is a “wonderful and brilliantly talented light-joy-bringer.”

Johnson has also appeared on Hallmark a bit over the years. He played Jake Finley in “Debbie Macomber’s Call Me Mrs. Miracle,” and he also starred as Ben in “Valentine Ever After.”

Drew thanked Johnson for “diving all the way into every hill and valley of this story with me with total trust and complete commitment to truth, honesty, connection and FUN!”

Drew & Johnson Joked About Being Serious on the Movie Set

The “Mistletoe Mysteries” star also gushed over many others tied to filming the movie. Drew admitted, “I’ve never had the opportunity to play and find things quite like I did with this team.”

Filming Drew’s new Lifetime movie included long hours and some terrible weather. Through it all, however, they “faced the challenges with joy, determination, a whole lot of heart and so much freaking laughter. My cup runneth over!”

As much as Drew laughed through filming “When I Said I Do,” she admitted in her Instagram post that she also sobbed more than once, as well.

Drew’s colleagues gushed over her adorable post, and fans acknowledged how excited they are to see it.

Hallmark star Benjamin Ayres, who is headlining the “When Calls the Heart” prequel “Hope Valley: 1874,” teased Drew in his comment. “Ohhhhh, I see you guys decided it would be best to have NO FUN,” Ayres wrote.

That prompted a reply from Drew, who wrote, “I don’t know what fun is, Ben.” Johnson added, “We were very very serious.”

Johnson also added a separate comment on Drew’s post that read, “SO. MUCH. FUN!!!!”
Several others who worked on the film added comments of their own, raving about the experience they had. One wrote, “It’s go time! Can’t wait to show the world our special movie!”
