Fan favorite Hallmark star Tyler Hynes spent Christmas with a big group of extended family members, and it looked as if the celebration was off to a good start. Not only was family gathered to celebrate Christmas, but it was also the birthday of Hynes’ mother, Betty.
Over 1,000 Hallmark Fans Tuned in For Tyler Hynes’ Christmas Eve Live
On December 24, Hynes went live on Instagram to share his Christmas spirit with fans. His iconic boot shot glasses were front and center as he connected with fans in this annual tradition.
Hynes noted that it was not only Christmas Eve, but also his mom’s birthday. Betty, who is beloved by Hallmark fans, peeked over to get in the camera frame and gave fans a little wave.
Fellow Hallmark star Andrew Walker was there, as well, with his wife and two sons. Walker’s wife, Cassandra Troy, is actually Hynes’ cousin.
Walker recently talked to Swagger about his family’s holiday traditions, noting that spending time with extended family with their top priority. Several generations of family members could be seen in Hynes’ live, with young nieces, nephews, and cousins sometimes stealing the show.
Hynes wore a knit turkey hat as he welcomed fans to his live and the kids were excited to have their boot shot glasses filled with ginger ale. The actor’s “son,” his dog Rusty, was ready to celebrate Christmas with the extended family as well.
Very quickly after Hynes went live, about 900 Hallmark fans had already joined him. A bit later in the live, the number of fans who had joined was about 1,100.
In the caption of his Instagram post, where he reshared the live, Hynes wrote, “To old friends, to new friends, Till the bitter end, Here’s to you friends.”
Hynes pulled Walker in at one point, putting him on the spot to give a speech. Walker shared a bit of his history with his wife’s extended family, and it was quite clear that both Hallmark stars had been enjoying the gathering.
In addition, Hynes told fans that he loved them and told said that anybody who was celebrating Christmas alone that they weren’t truly alone, because they had Hynes and his family.
Hallmark Fans Got a Kick out of Hynes & Walker’s Family Antics
A few hours later, Hynes shared another video on Instagram. This time, he managed to get his extended family to playfully take part in a popular social media trend. The group posed in fun and silly configurations and it looked like everybody had a blast.
This time, Hynes’ caption read, “From our fam to you fam, Let this jam, Find you well ma’am.”
Hallmark fans loved the posts that Hynes shared throughout the afternoon of Christmas Eve.
One fan commented, “Merry Christmas to you and your family! Your legacy of love and connection continues. Happy Birthday, Mrs. H!”
Another wrote, “The greatest…with family! As it should be. The best bootshot yet! Happy Birthday Mrs. Hynes! Cheers!”
Someone else added, “Cheers to Friendship and Family! Happiest of Birthdays to your mama…Mrs. Betty! Love seeing you surrounded [by] loved ones!”
