Now that “Rock the Block” season 7 has concluded on HGTV, the show’s stars are free to share their thoughts. Reality star Brooke Hogan teamed up with Scott McGillivray for the season and had an incredible experience.
While the 38-year-old felt excited to put her design expertise to work, she also made lifelong friendships and reestablished her name in the reality TV world.

Brooke Hogan Tearfully Recalls Filming the ‘Rock the Block’ Season 7 Finale
Before the season 7 finale aired, host Ty Pennington noted that this season was likely the “most difficult” yet. However, each contestant walked away with a unique learning experience. After the finale, Brooke Hogan vulnerably discussed how filming the season truly made her feel.
“I won something no appraiser can put a value on,” Brooke captioned an Instagram post, tagging her co-stars from “Rock the Block.”
“So that made me re-cry, all over again,” she explained in the video. “I was blubbering in the house. Of course, I knew who won because we filmed it long before it aired, but to relive it was just… Not heartbreaking, but I just don’t know how to even explain how much that experience meant to me.”
Brooke went on to share that her husband Steve watched their children for “two straight months” while she filmed “Rock the Block.” They opted not to hire any nannies or babysitters, so Steve truly took over parenting duties full-time.
“I’m surprised they didn’t show how bad I was crying. I don’t know if you can tell by my face as I was walking around hugging people. I was a mess,” the reality star recalled. Steve chimed in and said he was pleased that he gets to experience Brooke’s design expertise in their own home.
The Reality Star Expressed Gratitude For the HGTV Execs
Brooke Hogan had a wonderful experience on the set of “Rock the Block,” but also described how thankful she felt to have another chance at reality television.
“This is heavy, and I don’t think people are going to understand how heavy it is for me. But thank you to whoever at the network, at HGTV, that made the decision to hire me for the show,” the 38-year-old shared.
She detailed how heartbroken she felt when “Brooke Knows Best” was canceled. Drama within her family and in the public eye made many production companies shy away from the entire Hogan brand. Brooke truly felt that HGTV gave her a second chance.
“Whoever gave me the chance to be on the show at the network, I just have to thank you because it reignited my soul,” she told her Instagram audience as she wiped away tears.
Fans Share Their Reactions to the Unexpected ‘Rock the Block’ Winner
After weeks of grueling competition, Kim Wolfe and Chelsea Meissner took first place. While some loved the “smoky and sexy” look the women brought to their home, many HGTV viewers disagreed.
“It almost seems like they chose the worst house so they can get traction on social media otherwise I can’t understand the rationale,” one Instagram user wrote.
“I thought Drew and Taniya for sure had it! Or Mina and Vernon,” another added.
Fans are excited to see more seasons of “Rock the Block” in the future.
