Dave and Jenny Marrs‘ special 2025 vow renewal ceremony delighted viewers during the February 17 episode of “Fixer to Fabulous.” The HGTV star shared their decision to carry on with their celebration following the loss of a dear family friend.
Jenny Marrs Explains How Their Special Celebration Came to Be
On February 19, Marrs took to Instagram to reflect on the vow renewal ceremony that was included in the “Fixer to Fabulous” episode.
“I love that we were able to include our 20th anniversary celebration in this week’s episode of ‘Fixer to Fabulous,'” she wrote in the caption. “We had first dreamt this up about two years ago when Dave asked me to marry him all over again — this time, as our friend Nick so eloquently said — ‘surrounded by our legacy.'”
Marrs noted, “So, the planning was a surprise but the idea of a celebration and vow renewal was not.”
“Since some of y’all may have seen the episode but not my original post here, I thought I’d reshare it below. We had just lost our dear Mr. Bob that week. I hope this can encourage you all to ‘celebrate + remember’ too,” the HGTV star added.
Marrs Shared the Sorrow & Joy of Their Ceremony
In April 2025, Marrs shared photos from the vow renewal ceremony and explained how they decided to follow through with their plan, despite grieving.
“We unexpectedly lost someone very dear to our family and I considered rescheduling the 20th anniversary party I had planned to surprise Dave with last night,” she wrote at the time. “We were just too sad and too exhausted from carrying the heavy weight of grief.”
She explained, “But, I also knew that none of this was a surprise to God. He knew we would be sad and He knew we could hold it all — sorrow and joy. This was the only date on our calendar that worked when I first started planning and I now know that it was exactly what we needed exactly when we needed it.”
Marrs shared that they followed the message of “celebrate and remember.”
“We remembered the two giddy kids who vowed to love one another through both the hard and happy times twenty years ago. We remembered all that God has done for us and through us over the past two decades,” she wrote. “We remembered His immense blessings and we renewed our sacred vows from a place of gratitude for time-weathered and life-tested steadfast love.”
“And, we celebrated. We laughed with and hugged our people,” Marrs shared. “We looked around at our tribe and thanked them for walking alongside us in this life.”
She noted, “The thing about grief is it’s tricky. You can be so very sad and miss someone so deeply and you can also make room for joy and celebration. This morning, I’m holding all of it and praising the One who made sure that a boy in Colorado would meet a girl in Florida and that they would go on to build an abundant life together in Arkansas.”
“This life can be so hard and so beautiful and I wouldn’t want to do it with anyone other than Dave Marrs by my side,” she added.

“Jenny, I love your ability to see God’s hand in even the most difficult circumstances,” one fan wrote. “Thank you for being such a beautiful example of how to embrace joy and sorrow simultaneously — and how to see God’s goodness in it all.”
