Jenny Marrs took a moment to share a powerful reminder about the seasons of life, reflecting on how people shouldn’t discount their worth because they’re too old or too young. See what the HGTV star said about purpose.
Jenny Marrs Shares Important Reminder With Fans
On September 2, Marrs took to Instagram to share a message that everyone can take something away from.
“‘Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron was eighty-three when they made their demands to Pharaoh.’ (Exodus 7:7). I believe every word of Scripture is God-breathed and written down for a purpose,” Marrs explained in the caption. “Here’s the thing, the age of Moses and Aaron could have been left out of the story of Exodus, but this one seemingly insignificant sentence is on the page for a purpose.”
The HGTV star continued, “As I read these words this morning, I thought of three distinct conversations I’ve had with friends in different seasons of life — all stepping out in faith. The circumstances are varied but they all share a common thread: God is asking them to do a new thing and they are listening.”
She noted, “For some reason, the only one who is confidently stepping forward without hesitation is the one in her thirties. The other two are slightly older and feel silly; they mistakenly believe their time has passed. This is not okay.”
Marrs explained how society impacts people’s beliefs about their seasons of life. “Our society tells us that we aren’t wise enough to be listened to when we are young and then we need to step quietly out of the way as we age because we have had our chance and God couldn’t possibly choose to use us now. That is a lie.”
She shared, “God has a good plan for each of our lives. And, sometimes, He anoints us with our calling when we are a teenager, like David. Other times, He waits until we are eighty years old, like Moses.”
“I don’t know who needs to hear this today but please remember this: you are not unqualified because you’re ‘too young’ and you are not counted out because ‘you’re too old,'” she added. “Just keep on running your race well because you are here — living and breathing, right now, this very day, at this exact point in history — for a purpose.”
Fans Were Thankful for the HGTV Star’s Lesson
Marrs’ fans flooded the comments section to share how meaningful her words were to them.
“Thank you Rev. Jenny! Good message for this time we live in now and for me in particular,” one fan wrote. “My age is on the ‘old’ spectrum, but I need to keep telling myself that I can still accomplish important things.”
Other followers noted, “Thank you Jenny. I really needed this today” and “Great insight and perfect words, Jenny!”
“This tired 66 year old needed to read this,” another fan shared. “Thank you, Jenny.”
“This post is so timely, entering into a new phase of life and not sure how it makes sense,” another fan explained.
