Kate Hudson doesn’t always take herself too seriously and is even willing to get silly at times. That’s why the star took to Instagram on October 8 to playfully compare herself to another famous figure: Kylie Jenner.
Kate first shared a photo of herself sitting in a hotel room while her stylist seemingly works on her hair. The actress — who doesn’t appear to be wearing any makeup and had on a simple bra and comfy pants — smiles to the side while holding up her laptop. Plenty of the people in her comments praised the pic for its body positive nature.
Along with the picture of herself, Kate also included a photo of Kylie; however, the scene is a little different. The reality TV star has her makeup fully done and is wearing a matching set of bra and panties. Also sitting in a chair, Kylie holds a wine glass and gives a sultry look away from the camera.
In the caption of the post, Kate wrote: “Basically the same @kyliejenner”
Kate Knows What It’s Like to Experience ‘Body-shaming’
Kate has been in the business for quite a long time and opened up during an interview with the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast (via People) about what it was like to be scrutinized when she was younger.
“When I got really famous, there was so many lies,” she said. “It was so weird because in my mind it felt so unjust, like this is unfair.”
“They were so mean to women,” she added. “I mean, the body-shaming from being too skinny to too fat to then going up your skirt and the cellulite.”
Beyond that, the star also explained, “There was so much of it at such a rate that I couldn’t in any way comprehend that I just realized I need to figure out how to not care about any of this.”
“It was so negative,” she continued. “You just realize that you’re letting them win the more you feel bad. If I’m going to allow this negative energy to get into me, then they win. I’ve given them all my power.”
Kate Acknowledges that ‘Bodies Are So Different’
GettyKate may have been joking around when she compared herself to Kylie, however, she’s made it perfectly clear in the past that she recognizes that no two bodies are exactly the same.
“My whole thing is bodies are so different,” Hudson noted while talking to Vogue in March 2017. “We all set these standards of what we think is the perfect body, but we should be changing the dialogue to what makes you feel good.”
