“Teen Mom: The Next Chapter” star Jade Cline is speaking out about a painful breast infection that recently landed her in the hospital. The 28-year-old shared her story to raise awareness about mastitis, a complication most commonly associated with breastfeeding.

“I really wanted to raise awareness, because I wasn’t aware of any of this or any of these possibilities,” Cline explained in a Sept. 6 TikTok video. “I’ve heard of people having, like, boob problems when they’ve had a baby. I have not heard of just someone randomly getting an infection in their boob.”
Cline, who is mom to daughter Kloie, said she first noticed pain on Aug. 29 and assumed it was irritation from clothing. But when the pain worsened and swelling appeared, she consulted her doctor via telehealth. She was prescribed antibiotics and learned that “ducts, pores, they can get infected. Even milk ducts … even if you haven’t had a baby recently.”

Although the medication initially provided relief, Cline said her symptoms returned more intensely on Sept. 5. “I felt ten times worse. I had a raging fever, the pain [was] radiating from my chest. I couldn’t sleep,” she recalled. Describing it as “the sickest I have ever been, like pure hell,” Cline was told she had a “severe infection” that was “borderline, like, septic.”
In a follow-up TikTok, she assured fans she was on the mend but emphasized the seriousness of her condition. “Sepsis is a real thing … it onsets really quick. You do not want to get sepsis. It’s terrible,” she said.
Fans quickly filled the comments with support, with one writing, “Feel better, hun ❤️❤️ mastitis is horrible,” and another adding, “Sending you prayers 🙏❤️.”
Cline described the pain as “crippling,” but expressed gratitude that her treatment is working. “I’m just thanking God I’m not septic. I’m just going to keep taking my medications, taking care of my body, and keeping an eye on it very closely,” she wrote in her video caption.
Cline first appeared on “Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant” in 2019 before later joining “Teen Mom 2” in season 9 as Jenelle Evans’ replacement.
By openly sharing her experience, Cline hopes to remind others not to ignore symptoms and to prioritize their health. “We never really acknowledge or appreciate our health until it’s in jeopardy,” she said.
