Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola is celebrating a new chapter as a mom.
The “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” star and her fiancé, Justin May, welcomed their first child together, son Vincent Keith May, on Aug. 20. Days later, the couple announced the happy news in a joint Instagram post that included photos of their newborn swaddled in a striped blanket, as well as shots of the family of three outside the hospital.
“Welcome to the world my rainbow miracle baby 🥹🍼 Vincent Keith May August 20, 2025,” Giancola captioned the post. “😭 After this very long journey to get here, words cannot describe how blessed and truly grateful we are. Forever living in our baby love bubble until further notice 🥹♥️ Ok I can’t stop crying happy tears. Thank you God.”
A Long Journey to Parenthood
Giancola and May first announced their pregnancy in February with a beach-themed Instagram post that included ultrasound photos. At the time, Giancola reflected on their struggles with infertility, which included a failed IVF attempt and miscarriage before their engagement. Calling the pregnancy “the absolute greatest blessing we could ever possibly ask for,” she also encouraged others facing similar challenges: “Miracles do happen!!”
In May, the couple revealed they were expecting a boy during a gender reveal on the Seaside Boardwalk with her “Jersey Shore” castmates. “I think we were just happy to have a healthy baby. We didn’t care about gender at all, but we kind of had a feeling what it was,” Giancola told People.
May expressed his excitement for fatherhood, telling People, “I can’t wait to just play sports. Teaching my kid, coaching the Little League teams and stuff. It’s going to be exciting.” Giancola said hearing him talk about it made her “heart melt.”
Castmates and Fans Celebrate Baby Vincent
News of baby Vincent’s arrival quickly drew love and support from the “Jersey Shore” family. Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi commented, “Welcome to the family baby! ❤️,” while Jenni “JWOWW” Farley added, “😍😍😍😍 congratulations 🍾.” Deena Cortese wrote, “So happy for you !!! He’s beautiful ❤️❤️,” and Lauren Sorrentino, wife of Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, posted, “Welcome Baby Vincent! We can’t wait to meet this precious boy! 🥺🙏🏼♥️.” The show’s official account also chimed in with, “Congratulations!! ❤️”
Fans joined in as well, with some affectionately dubbing the newborn “Vinny 3.0” in reference to her longtime castmate Vinny Guadagnino.
Giancola, who returned to “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” in 2023 after more than a decade away from the franchise, got engaged to May in March 2024. “The easiest question I’ve ever answered,” she wrote at the time.
Reflecting on their journey, Giancola wrote in her baby announcement, “After this very long journey to get here, words cannot describe how blessed and truly grateful we are.”
