Anne Hathaway Debuts Dramatic Pixie Cut

Anne Hathaway is turning heads with a dramatic new hairstyle.

The Oscar-winning actress, 43, appears on the September cover of Vogue China sporting a short, edgy pixie cut that is a major departure from the long waves she has worn in recent years.

For the cover, Hathaway wears a white blazer with black piping and a statement necklace. Her cropped hair features layered bangs, giving the look a distinctly punk-inspired edge.

The rest of the accompanying photoshoot shows Hathaway embracing a variety of bold fashion choices.

In one image, she wears a striking red dress paired with red latex gloves, while other looks include a purple blazer and a structured black suit. Her short hair is styled to move dramatically as she poses and dances for the camera.

Fans Can’t Get Enough

Fans quickly took to social media to react to Hathaway’s transformation.

“Looks awesome!” one fan wrote.

Another added, “Anne looks so cute,”

Some just simply wrote “gorgeous” and “queen.”

However, not everyone was convinced Hathaway actually cut her hair.

“Please be a wig!” another chimed in.

“It looks like a wig but hey it’s just hair,” a fan wrote.

Others said it was no way it’s real. “Definitely a wig. It looks fake,” someone else added.

It remains unclear whether Hathaway’s pixie cut is real or a wig created specifically for the photoshoot.

The dramatic style is particularly familiar to longtime Hathaway fans.

It’s Been Years Since She’s Had Short Hair

In 2012, the actress famously cut off her hair for her role as Fantine in the Oscar-winning musical drama “Les Misérables.” Her performance earned her the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Hathaway’s latest transformation comes during another significant period in her life. She announced in June that she is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman.

The couple, who married in 2012, are already parents to sons Jonathan and Jack.

While discussing her career and personal identity with Vogue China, Hathaway reflected on how her perspective has changed after more than two decades in Hollywood.

“For a very long time, acting was the greatest love of my life, and it was at the core of my sense of identity,” she said. “Now, I also have an identity outside of acting.”

Hathaway explained that she still deeply loves performing but no longer views her career as the sole defining part of who she is.

“If acting were taken away from me one day, I would be heartbroken, but I would absolutely find other ways to express myself,” she said. “It wouldn’t be devastating.”

The actress added that losing something from her actual life would have a much greater impact.

“If something disappeared from my real life — from the life I actually live — that would be catastrophic, that would be devastating,” Hathaway said.

She ultimately summed up her current relationship with Hollywood simply: “I no longer crave attention for my career. The only reason I keep making films is that I truly love it.”

With her new Vogue China cover, Hathaway is showing that she is just as willing to experiment with her appearance as she is to rethink what her career means to her.
