Mayank Pawar, who starred in season 7 of MTV’s Indian dating show “Splitsvilla,” has sadly passed away. He was 37 years old.
Pawar died on February 23, according to his death announcement shared on his Instagram.
“A brother, a champion, a mentor, and an inspiration to many. Mayank Pawar will forever live in our hearts,” the caption said in honor of the beloved reality TV star and fitness guru. “Please join us in prayer and remembrance. Om Shanti.”
Mayank Pawar’s Mom Speaks Out After His Passing
Following his death, Pawar’s mom, Rajni Pawar, opened up in an interview with One India about the stress her son had experienced before his untimely passing, the India Times reported.
Pawar kept his personal life private for much of his public career. His mom, however, shared in her interview that her beloved son was once married and later divorced in 2014, leading to ongoing health struggles both physically and mentally.
“My son was a very hardworking person,” Rajni said. “Fitness was his life, but the divorce broke him from within. The liver problem made his condition worse. We tried a lot, but…”
Rajni shared that the stress of Pawar’s divorce caused him immense depression, even leading to a serious liver problem in March 2025.
Pawar’s mom further shared that her son died at home in Rana Pratap Bagh, Delhi. He even celebrated his 37th birthday just days before passing. No cause of death has been released to the public, however; his mom shared that his liver damage did have an impact on his last days on earth.
Mayank Pawar’s Influence as a Fitness Icon
A prayer vigil was held for the reality TV star on Feb. 25 at Valmiki Mandir, Sangam Park, Rana Pratap Bagh, where his family and friends shared their grievances.
Apart from his reality TV fame, Pawar was a celebrity fitness trainer and a devoted fitness icon. According to his death statement, Pawar was crowned Mr. India six times. He also won the title of Mr. Asia.
Pawar’s fitness family in India honored his passing in a heartfelt tribute on X, remembering him as a disciplined man who was proud of his achievements and the life he built.
“Today we remember Mayank Pawar | Mr. Asia | Mr. India Times. A public figure who embodied discipline, strength, and national pride,” the post said. “His achievements in fitness were built through relentless effort and unwavering focus. The stage may fall silent, but the legacy remains. Rest in peace.”
