Ayra Starr is having a phenomenal summer. She gave fans an unexpected treat before taking the stage at one of London’s biggest summer music festivals.
On Thursday, August 20, the Nigerian Afrobeats star made a surprise appearance at Moxy London Stratford ahead of her anticipated performance at the All Points East Festival.
The pop-up celebrated Ayra’s new album, “Starrgirl,” while giving fans an opportunity to connect with the singer during her busy festival weekend.
Ayra stopped by Moxy London Stratford one day before her scheduled performance at All Points East.
The appearance was part of the hotel’s effort to create experiences connecting Gen Z travelers with the artists, events and cultural moments they care about.
Photos from the event showed Ayra spending time inside the East London hotel as excitement continued to build around her festival appearance and latest musical era.
The singer released “Starrgirl” on August 14. The 16-track album blends Afrobeats, R&B and pop while featuring collaborations with artists including Zayn Malik, Leon Thomas and Wizkid.
The project also includes the singles “Where Do We Go” and “Tornado.”
Moxy Hotels Created a Cocktail Inspired by ‘Starrgirl’
The celebration extended beyond Ayra’s appearance.
Moxy London Stratford introduced the Starrgirl Spritz, a premium cocktail inspired by the singer and her new album. The drink will be available at the hotel throughout the All Points East festival weekend.
The hotel will donate from every Starrgirl Spritz sold to Endometriosis UK, Ayra’s selected charity.
Endometriosis UK provides information and support to people affected by the chronic condition while campaigning for improved treatment and greater public awareness.
The charitable component gives fans another way to participate in the “Starrgirl” celebration while supporting an organization important to the singer.
Ayra Starr Joined a Major All Points East Lineup
Ayra is scheduled to perform at All Points East on Friday, August 21, at Victoria Park in London.
She joins a lineup led by co-headliners Jorja Smith and Tems. Other performers scheduled for the opening day include Nia Archives, Odeal, kwn, Elmiene, Destin Conrad and Uncle Waffles, according to the festival’s official website.
The festival continues across two weekends with headlining performances from Lorde, Deftones, Tyler, the Creator and Twenty One Pilots.
Ayra’s appearance places her alongside several artists helping shape the current sound of Afrobeats, R&B and global pop.

“Starrgirl” follows Ayra’s 2024 album, “The Year I Turned 21,” which featured collaborations with Coco Jones, Giveon, Anitta and Asake.
The singer has described her latest project as a reflection of her growth and desire to experiment with different sounds. She recorded music for the album across Lagos, New York and Los Angeles.
Ayra has also continued building her international audience through major performances and high-profile collaborations. Her 2022 hit “Rush” earned her a Grammy nomination and helped introduce her music to listeners around the world.
