Matteo Milleri, better known by his stagename Anyma, did not perform his set at the 2026 Coachella Music & Arts Festival. The DJ, who is hugely popular and has over 4 million followers on Instagram alone, shared a statement on the social media platform explaining the decision.
Why DJ Anyma Did Not Play at the 2026 Coachella Music Festival
The announcement about Anyma’s canceled set came “nearly 20 minutes” after he was set to start, Us Weekly reports. It was also revealed that he would not be playing his set because of safety concerns. “Due to strong wind conditions affecting Anyma’s stage build, he is unable to perform tonight,” a statement on Instagram by Coachella stated. “Coachella and Anyma have made this decision together with your safety as the priority.”
Anyma shared his own thoughts in the caption, writing, “I’m sorry everyone. We’ve done everything in our control to build the show I’ve worked an entire year on. Safety always comes first and we’re working on a solution now.”
Fans flooded the post’s comment section with their thoughts and expressed their disappointment. “Stay strong mate I’m sure that you and the whole team will get through this,” a comment from DJ Benny Benassi reads. “Sending to Anyma and team full support. We know how much work goes into shows like this, and sometimes things are simply out of your hands. The vision and effort never go unnoticed. Respect always,” another comment reads.
Anyma & Lisa’s Collaboration
Many fans commented on the post about how they had wanted to see Blackpink star Lisa, who collaborated with Anyma on the track “Bad Angel.” The performance of this song was highly anticipated. On April 10, Lisa and Anyma gave a joint interview to Vogue about their collaboration.
“When you first showed me the visual of this character, I loved it,” Lisa told Anyma in their interview with Vogue. “I didn’t even want to add any input on it because [it was] already perfect and on point. The concept and the song just felt so good.”
Vogue noted how fans were “already clamoring for a live performance of the song.” In the interview, Anyma appeared to have high praise for Lisa, telling her, “It’s not just music, what you do. It’s music, visuals, and performance at the highest level. Everything is crafted to perfection… and you need dedication, stubbornness, and really to focus to make this stuff like you do it.”
