Beloved Country Band Honors Late Bandmate in Meaningful Way Days After His Passing

Jerry Leach, the bassist for country music band Not Leaving Sober, tragically passed away after a freak accident in front of his New Jersey home on March 10.

According to Wide Open Country, Leach was found trapped underneath a vehicle outside his home shortly after 5 p.m. on March 10 in Jefferson Township. Despite efforts from neighbors and emergency personnel to save the 32-year-old, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Not Leaving Sober Honors Jerry Leach With Tribute Concert

The rising country band announced on March 18 that their upcoming show would be a special tribute to their late brother.

“We are dedicating our performance at The Stone Pony on April 4th to our brother, Jerry,” the group’s official Instagram page shared. “The show formerly titled, ‘Welcome to Hell’ will now be known as, ‘Stoned at the Pony’.”

The statement continued, “But when we say celebration, we hope you understand — we intend to do this exactly the way Jerry would want it. A party. A reflection of a life well-lived and a man who gave everything to everyone he knew. If we know Jerry (and trust me, we do), he doesn’t want this to be a somber night, but a loud and rowdy celebration with all of his friends and Not Leaving Sober family.”

The name of the tribute concert is an ode to Leach, the band shared.

“About a week before Jerry passed, he shared the flyer for our upcoming show at the Jersey shore’s most famous venue and wrote ‘Stone Pony? More like stoned at the Pony,'” they recalled. “It is only fitting to rename the show in a way that only Jerry could conjure up.”

“Jerry would tell us to keep the party going and that is exactly what we will do. So on the 4th, drink a Monster, take a puff of your j0int, grab your board and go for a ride, play a little Pokemon and saddle up for a party like no other. Please join us at The Stone Pony on April 4th to celebrate the life of our friend, our brother, Jerry,” they concluded. “We love you, Jer Bear 🧡 This one’s for you.”

Jerry Leach Will Be Missed

Fans were thrilled to see the band—who previously opened for major country music artists, including Morgan Wallen, Jason Aldean, and Florida Georgia Line—share such a meaningful tribute.

“Love this so much. This one’s for you, Jerry! We’re gonna make you proud!” one fan commented.

“Long Live Jerry! Blessed to have shared the stage with him 🤘🏼🖤 Rest In Peace,” another wrote.

A third follower added, “This is gonna be a special one. We hope to make you proud, Jerry!🧡🙏🏻”
