R&B singer Ray J has been hospitalized in Las Vegas with a severe case of pneumonia and heart pains, TMZ reports.
A source told the outlet that Ray J “remains in the hospital where he has received X-rays and an echocardiogram,” but there has been “no word yet on the results.”
Ray J Has Been Taking Part In A Show Called ‘Celebrity Hitchhiker’
GettyRay J took the Instagram on Saturday, December 13, in which he detailed how he’s part of a new show called Celebrity Hitchhiker.
“I’m hitchhiking right now to try to get a place to stay tonight,” he wrote (per US Weekly). “Hopefully I can be the new family, and it can take me in and teach me about their rules and their goals and life, and then send me on my way to the next destination.”
He filmed the video in Tampa, Florida and said that he wanted to make it back to Los Angeles by Christmas.
Ray J Diagnosed With Non-COVID Pneumonia In 2021
In 2021, Ray J suffered a very serious case of pneumonia during the pandemic, but it had nothing to do with COVID-19. At the time, the singer said that he “thought he could die,” being hospitalized in Miami. Specifically, he was having difficulty breathing and talking, had to use an inhaler, and was on oxygen.
“I thought it was over,” he told TMZ at the time, adding that he “started praying and knew God is good so I just kept praying.”
Sources told the outlet that this health scare was brought on by his “busy schedule” and “constant travel,” adding that he “realized he needs to take care of his health.”
Ray J Sent A Message To Fans Following Hospitalization In 2021
GettyRay J’s longtime manager David Weintraub shared a message to fans after the singer was hospitalized in2 021.
“I appreciate all the love and support from everybody. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers, and I will be back up and running soon,” the statement said (via PEOPLE).
At the time, Weintraub also revealed some additional information about Ray J’s condition.
“He’s in the hospital for pneumonia, but it’s not the contagious kind,” Weintraub said. “[The doctors] wanted to keep him there a couple extra days to watch him.”
“They gave him multiple COVID tests, and he tested negative for all of them,” he added.
