Singer Ray J, the brother of Grammy-winning singer and actress Brandy, has been open about his health struggles in recent weeks. Now, fans are concerned as the “One Wish” singer has been spotted performing with what appears to be a chest. This came weeks after he was hospitalized for severe pneumonia and a critical heart condition.
Ray J performed in Shreveport, Louisiana, in February 2026. While at the concert, fans noted that the singer and reality star seemed to suffer from medical complications. Notably, they saw what appeared to be blood on his face.
However, the concern persisted when Ray J removed his shirt during the performance, exposing what appeared to be a chest patch.
Following the clip going viral, fans took to social media to offer kind words to Ray J, Brandy, his children, and the rest of the Norwood family.
Ray J Addressed His Health At the Concert
During the performance, Ray J addressed the crowd. He said, “Everybody got heart problems. I’m just going through something. They told me not to come, but I had to come because I was on the bill and I love ya’ll.”
According to PEOPLE, the reality star thanked fans for their support in January 2026 after being hospitalized. He said, “I want to thank everybody for praying for me. I was in a hospital. My heart’s only beating like 25 percent, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, everything will be all right.”
He continued, “My health is not okay, so I thank everybody for supporting and praying for me.” The singer also stated that doctors diagnosed him with severe heart failure and said that he may not have much longer to live.
He Recently Celebrated Brandy’s Birthday
GettyRay J helped his Grammy-winning sister celebrate her 47th birthday in February 2026. Brandy took to Instagram not only to thank fans for the birthday wishes but also to post photos from her celebration, including one with Ray J.
She said in the caption, “Thank you for all the birthday love — every call, text, post, prayer, and gift. I felt it all. I’m truly overwhelmed in the best way. Your love did not go unnoticed. Thank you for celebrating me.”
According to BET, this came after the famous siblings reunited on stage during one of the two Atlanta stops of her “The Boy Is Mine Tour” in November 2025. They embraced on stage as fans cheered, and he was seen backstage at many of the shows afterward.
