Famed R&B artist Ray J, 45, was told by doctors he only has months to live, Page Six reports. The musician, who has also starred in several reality TV shows, was recently admitted to the hospital for heart problems and pneumonia.
Ray J told his fans in an Instagram livestream that “2027 is definitely a wrap for me. That’s what they [doctors] said.”
As his friend next to him chimed in to express sadness about the devastating news, Ray J went on to talk about his family, whom he said he is leaving everything to.
Ray J Expresses Regret
“My baby mama gonna be straight, my kids gonna be straight, if they wanna spend all the money, they can spend it. I did my part here,” the musician said, adding, “I shouldn’t have went this hard.”
Ray J, whose real name is William Ray Norwood, expressed his desire to be cremated instead of buried. During his livestream, he also said his parents will be taking him to his doctor’s appointment the following day.
The VH1 star thanked his sister, Brandy, who is also a talented singer, for taking care of his bills for the rest of the year.
Ray J’s Health Has Declined Over the Years
GettyRay J’s heartbreaking news comes just days after he revealed in a different video posted to his Instagram that after he left the hospital from his Jan. 6 admittance, doctors told him his heart was only functioning at 25 percent.
“I want to thank everybody for praying for me,” he said at the time. “I was in the hospital. My heart’s only beating like 25%, but as long as I stay focused and stay on the right path, then everything will be alright, so thank you for all your prayers.”
Ray J had previously suffered from a case of pneumonia in 2021 as well. At the time, he told TMZ that he thought he was facing his final days as his condition continued to worsen.
“I thought it was over. I started praying and knew God is good so I just kept praying,” he told the outlet.
Fans of the “Sexy Can I” artist have rallied to support him with kind words on Instagram. Many of his supporters told him to remain positive in hopes of him becoming healthier.
“Doctors can say anything but God has the final say. Pray pray pray,” wrote one.
“More life and longevity to you Ray J!!” added another.
