Brandy Prioritized Her ‘Well-Being’ in Decision to Abruptly End Concert

Singer Brandy kicked off her “That Boy Is Mine” tour with Monica earlier this month. The duo was performing in Chicago on Saturday, October 18, when Brandy, 46, walked off stage, abruptly ending the show.

The “Missing You” singer addressed fans’ concern in a lengthy Instagram post on Sunday, October 19.

Brandy Walked Off Stage Mid-Show

Fan footage from Saturday night’s concert shows the singer walking off stage, leaving concertgoers confused.

“WAIT, WHAT? we are all in shock,” one social media user wrote alongside a clip shared via X. “What do you mean Brandy left the stage halfway through #theboyisminetour ? Nobody knows what happened, but Monica had to close the concert alone and they didn’t sing The Boy is Mine.”

Another explained, “Brandy walked off stage & said [something] like ‘give me a sec yall’ We never saw her again. Monica came out, monologued, sat, sung and left. No bye, no nothing. Screen went off. Lights came on and they told us to get out.”

Fans were remained confused until Brandy addressed the rumors the following day.

Brandy Opens Up About Difficult Decision to End Concert

“I sincerely apologize for the abrupt end to last night’s performance in Chicago,” she began in a letter addressed to her “dear fans in Chicago.” “After weeks of nonstop rehearsals, last night I experienced dehydration and feelings of wanting to faint, everyone involved agreed that prioritizing my well-being was of the utmost importance.”

She went on to explain that she attempted to return to the stage, but “the show being very technical, unfortunately, it was impossible to fully connect sonically with the production.”

“I’m deeply grateful to my sister, Monica, for stepping up with such grace and professionalism and the entire crew for their continued care and support.

Following the show, Brandy sought medical attention.

“[I] have taken the proper precautions to help moving forward. Your understanding, patience, and unwavering belief mean the world to me,” she added, thanking her fans.
