“Love on the Spectrum” stars Abbey Romeo and David Isaacman confirmed their shocking split after more than four years together.
“Abbey and David spent four and a half years together and truly value the time they shared and each other,” the former couple said in a joint statement to People on Friday, April 10. “At this point, they want different things and have decided to go their separate ways, but they remain friends wishing each other the best.”
‘Love on the Spectrum’ Couple Abbey and David Split
Romeo and Isaacman fell in love after meeting during season 1 of the beloved Netflix series. The Los Angeles based duo bonded over their love of lions, waterparks, and the autism diagnoses.
Throughout the following seasons, fans watched as the couple became a fixture on the dating series. They traveled together to Africa to see their favorite animal in the wild, visited the local zoos on multiple occasions, and spent time getting to know each others family.
Just days after the season 4 premiere, The U.S. Sun reported that the pair had called it quits after nearly five years of dating.
“They couldn’t come to an agreement on when to get married. She was ready years ago, he still needed time,” a source told the outlet.
A separate source close to Isaacman added, “They did break up, but he is doing very well.”
While it’s unclear exactly when the pair ended their relationship, Isaacman has not been featured on Romeo’s popular Instagram since December 2025.
“We’ve loved having an annual pass to @unistudios 💙✨ #abbeysautism #loveonthespectrum @david_loveonthespectrum” she captioned the video of their trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood.
Abbey Romeo Was Ready for Marriage
Season 4 of the series saw another fan-favorite couple, Madison Marilla and Tyler White, get engaged after one year of dating.
The two couples had grown close over their time on the show, and Abbey and David even attended the pair’s engagement party in Florida.
After news of Marilla’s engagement to White spread amongst the cast, Romeo voiced that she hoped she and Isaacman would be next.
“We could only be engaged whenever the time is right,” Isaacman said. “I love you to infinity and beyond.”
Romeo’s mom, Christine Romeo, reminded her daughter that she recently caught the bouquet at another wedding.
“That means you’re soon to be a bride one of these days,” she added.
