Witherspoon Reveals What It’s Like to Balance Her Children & Career

Balancing parenting responsibilities with career obligations surely isn’t easy for Witherspoon, however, it certainly seems worth it.

“Someone asked me what raising three kids and building a career in Hollywood looked like,” Witherspoon wrote over pics of herself with her children which she posted to Instagram on August 14. “It looked like spending a lot of time in trailers together. It looked like always being on the road together.”

“It looked really hard sometimes I’d cry working 14 to 17 hours, sometimes all night long and still woke up early for carpool,” she continued. “I was deliriously tired.”

“It looked like trying to say something positive about work when I got home at night,” she wrote. “so, my kids would know that my work was meaningful to me and could be fun!”

She finished by writing: “In conclusion, even though it was challenging at times, having kids gave me perspective about what was important in life. Nothing was better than getting to come home and hug them and hear about their day.”

Beyond that, the actress said on The Drew Barrymore Show (via People), “There’s a lot of compromise … You feel like that’s what makes me wake up on a Sunday, it’s not movies or my job, it’s my kids. Being a mom is really great, it’s a big part of my life. I would say it’s the biggest part of my life.”
