Ashley Iaconetti Opens Up About Surprising ‘Housewives’ Experience After ‘Bachelor’ Fame

Ashley Iaconetti knows reality television. After years in “The Bachelor” franchise, she has lived through emotional storylines, high-pressure moments, and on-camera conflict. But stepping into a new Bravo series introduced a different kind of experience.

In an exclusive interview with Parade, Iaconetti shared what stood out most while filming “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,” offering a candid look at how the environment differed from what she was used to.

A Different Kind of Reality TV Experience

For Iaconetti, the biggest shift was not just the presence of conflict, but how it unfolds.

“I kind of felt like I’ve been around conflict on screen before, but I truly haven’t,” she exclusively told Parade. “It was so much more dramatic than Bachelor.”

That distinction comes down to tone. While “The Bachelor” often centers around structured relationships and guided storylines, Iaconetti described a more direct and unfiltered dynamic in this new setting.

“We might have disagreements… but normally the fights are like talking,” she explained. “We don’t like curse at each other.”

The contrast highlights a broader difference between the two formats. One is built around a clear narrative arc. The other is driven by long-standing relationships and real-world tension that plays out in real time.

Taking a Measured Approach as a Newcomer

Rather than jumping into the middle of those dynamics, Iaconetti made a conscious decision early on to step back.

“You’re not involved, so don’t get involved,” she said of her mindset during filming.

Iaconetti focused on observing and understanding the group before inserting herself into ongoing situations. That approach allowed her to navigate the environment with intention instead of reacting in the moment.

It also reflects a level of awareness that comes from experience. Iaconetti has been on reality television long enough to understand how quickly situations can escalate on camera.

Finding Her Place in a New Franchise

Even with that experience, Iaconetti admitted the transition was not without its challenges.

“I went in with so much… education on it that I may have been a little guarded,” she said. She added that she even worried she came across as “too careful” at times.

That balance between being present and being cautious is part of what defines this next chapter for her. It is not about relearning reality TV, but about adapting to a format that operates in a different way.

Her move into the Housewives world also marks a rare crossover moment between two major franchises. For viewers, it offers a chance to see how a familiar personality adjusts in a completely new environment.

The Real Housewives of Rhode Island” is set to premiere April 2 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. The series introduces a new cast navigating life, relationships, and social circles in the Ocean State.

For Iaconetti, the experience adds a new layer to a career already shaped by reality television. This time, the lessons came not from romance, but from learning how to exist within a different kind of spotlight.
