Bravo treated fans of “The Real Housewives of New York City” with a double dose of excitement on March 2. Not only did the network announce the cast for season 16 of the recently rebooted series, but they also confirmed that fan-favorite Carole Radziwill will return as a friend of the show. Now, former RHONY star Dorinda Medley is weighing in.
Medley took to her SiriusXM radio show, “Reality Checked,” on the day of the announcement and offered her take about Radziwill’s return. Luckily, the “Just Bookin’ Around” TikTok account had the clip.
The RHONY alum said, “I’m surprised I knew nothing about it, and we’re quite close. So she kept it very — her cards very close to her chest.”
Dorinda Medley Thinks Radziwill Should Be Full-Time on RHONY
GettyMedley continued on the show, which is co-hosted by Kiki Monique, saying that Radziwill is a true New Yorker, so her casting makes sense. According to the former RHONY star, “I don’t know if she knows any of the girls.
I think that Carole’s just a New York character, and she’s very close to Andy [Cohen], and she had such a great comeback on Watch What Happens Live and BravoCon, and I think the show needs a character, something to sort of unify it back to the old a little bit.”
Medley also stated that Radziwill could serve as a “great bridge” on the show between the legacy cast and the more recent additions. However, she did have one qualm about her friend rejoining “The Real Housewives of New York City.”
She said, “I think she should be full-time. But a ‘friend of,’ that’s too little. She should be … I don’t know if I could as a full-time Housewife go back and be a ‘friend of’ with these new girls.”
Bravo Announced the ‘Real Housewives of New York City’ Cast on Social Media
Bravo took to its official social media channels on March 2 to announce Radziwill’s return to RHONY. The post included four photos of the beloved journalist from over the years. They added the caption, “In the marathon of life, loyalty is everything. And because of Bravo fans’ loyalty, Carole Radziwill is returning to #RHONY as a friend-of for Season 16!!!”
Sometime later, the network confirmed the rest of the RHONY season 16 cast. In additon to Radziwill, it includes returners Sai De Silva, Erin Lichy, and Jessel Taank. The newbies are Hailey Glassman, Erika Hammond, and Daisy Toye.
Bravo also announced that filming is set to begin this week. Based on the schedule, it’s reasonable to assume the show will premiere sometime in 2026.
