‘Real Housewives’ Stars Rally Around Mary Cosby After Heartbreaking Statement About Her Son’s Sudden Passing

“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby‘s son, Robert Cosby Jr., has died. He was 23. The news of his passing was first reported by TMZ on Wednesday, February 25, but Mary made her own heartbreaking statement soon after.


 Mary Cosby Pens Heartfelt Statement About Robert Cosby Jr.’s Passing

Mary shared a statement on Instagram. In white text against a black background, she wrote, “Our beloved son Robert Cosby Jr. has been called home to the Lord. Though our hearts ache, we take comfort in God’s promise and in knowing he is finally at peace. We are grateful for your prayers and trust in the Lord to carry us through this time of sorrow.” The message is signed by Mary Cosby. 

In the caption, she wrote, “#godfirst #love,” and added a red heart emoji. The statement is heartbreaking, and fans and celebrities have flooded the comment section with messages of love and support, offering Mary and her family their heartfelt condolences. 


Fans Show Their Support for Mary Cosby 

Among the celebrity reactions is one from actress Julia Fox, who wrote, “I will never get over this. I’m so sorry Mary.” Support has also come from Mary’s “Real Housewives” family, many of whom have shared touching messages.

“Real Housewives” star Kyle Richards wrote, “Mary, I am so very sorry for your unimaginable loss. I’m holding you in my thoughts and prayers. We are here for you and sending so much love.” 

“The Real Housewives of Miami” star Lisa Hochstein wrote, “I am so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what you’re going through. Prayers for you and your family.”

Mia Thornton reacted to the news, writing, “My Queen.  Words will never describe the pain I have in my heart for you. I can’t imagine. Lord, please cover our babies, our families, and our hearts. Praying for you sister. If you need anything and I mean anything at all, I’m here.”

“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Heather Gay wrote, “There are no words big enough. We love you Mary.” And “The Real Housewives of Potomac” alum Candiace Dillard Bassett also shared her condolences. “Mary, you are deep in my prayers. Sending my deepest condolences to you and your family,” she wrote.

Robert passed away on Monday, February 23, TMZ reports. The outlet states that the cause of death is unclear, adding, “police responded to a possible overdose, and it turned into a death investigation upon arrival.”
