Robyn Dixon departed “The Real Housewives of Potomac” in April 2024 following the show’s eighth season. Since then, it has been rumored that she was in conideration to return to RHOP as a full-time housewife. Now, a new report says she will be a friend of the show.
As fans know, Dixon remains close friends with Gizelle Bryant, who would be her natural connection back to the show following her exit.
Robyn Dixon Reportedly Didn’t Want To Be Full-Time on RHOP
GettyMatt Richards from RealityBlurb reported on April 8 that Dixon would be returning to “The Real Housewives of Potomac” as a friend of the show. An insider told the outlet, “Robyn is definitely back as a friend.”
They went on, “Although she didn’t want to return in any capacity last year after she was let go – and even refused to show up at the event Gizelle Bryant hosted for the podcast they are both on – she changed her tune this season.”
The source went on to discuss why being a friend of the show works best for Dixon. They said, “Robyn is real and always has been. But a friend of role makes more sense for her at this point in time. It was clear in the past she didn’t like a microscope being put on her relationship with her husband, Juan Dixon, and if she’s in a ‘friend of’ role, this is not something that will be focused on.”
Regarding how much RHOP fans will see Dixon, the outlet reported, “Robyn will definitely get extensive camera time if she has something that production decides they want to focus on. However, as things stand now, she will be back in a ‘friend of’ role. She still has many fans and supporters, as well as authentic relationships with some of the cast members, so she will be a seamless fit to return.”
She Was Honest About Being Fired
Dixon announced her “Real Housewives of Potomac” exit on her “Reasonably Shady” podcast in April 2024. During her announcement, the RHOP legend was honest, admitting that Bravo had not asked her back to the show.
Dixon said at the time, “Yes, I will not be returning for season 9 of ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac.’ It’s reality. The network did not invite me back. I was fired, for lack of better words. I will not sugar-coat the situation and say, ‘Ooh, I am walking away, and this is a break,’ or anything like this. This is a network decision.”
She added, “I’m okay with it because nothing lasts forever. I’ve had a very long run on the show, and I just really appreciate that time and the opportunity that I had on the show.”
