If you haven’t been keeping up with Chris Harrison since he left “The Bachelor” franchise, you may be interested to find out that he’s been dedicating part of his time to a very good cause. The former “Bachelor” host and his wife, former Entertainment Tonight host, Lauren Zima, have been lending their support to Experience Camps, which runs camps for children who have lost a parent, sibling or primary caregiver.
While Chris and Lauren hosted a gala for Experience Camps in Austin on Thursday, October 23, members of Bachelor Nation showed up to lend their support.
So, who was there? Well, Ben Higgins attended the event as did Kelley Flanagan and Andrew Firestone. Catherine Giudici Lowe was there along with Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar. That’s not to mention Connor Saeli, Raven Gates and Adam Gottschalk.
According to People, “Andrew served as auctioneer in his first public appearance since his split, earning laughs and praise from guests.”
Chris & Lauren Had a ‘Perfect Night’ With Bachelor Nation ‘Family’
There’s no doubt that Chris and Lauren appreciated the fact that Bachelor Nation alum showed up to support the event.
Indeed, the couple popped up a shared Instagram post and in the caption wrote, “We had the perfect night with our friends, family and #BachelorNation family, and are so grateful to our community for supporting the grieving kids of Texas!”
Experience Camps Teaches Kids ‘They Are Not Alone’
Due to the incredible mission of Experience Camps, it’s obvious why they’ve earned the support of Chris and Lauren, as well as members of Bachelor Nation.
“Experience Camps, founded in 2009, is a national, no-cost program for grieving children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling or primary caregiver,” according to the Experience Camps website.
“Our one-week, overnight summer grief camps, year-round programs, and content help to reframe the experience of grief, and empower kids with the necessary coping skills to move forward with their lives,” they continued. “Through compassion, connection, and play, Experience Camps allows grieving children to embody a life full of hope and possibility.”
“We give grieving children experiences that change their lives forever,” the organization notes. “At Experience Camps, everyone understands what it’s like to lose someone important. Here, kids can laugh, cry, play, honor the memory of the person who died, while getting a break from the grief that often weighs them down. At camp, they learn they are not alone.”
